Rewey

Update: Rewey was adopted!

Chow Chow through and through :)

Did you know that according to a survey by the American Animal Hospital Association, 70% of you humans sign your pet's name on greeting cards and 58% include their 4-legged family members in their holiday portraits?  Woah Baby - I want to be in that majority of dogs!  My name is Rewey (pronounced "Rooey") and I'm a 2-year-young 55-lb Chow Chow who is nothing if not true to my breed.  For starters, I'm a playful, smiley pup who will bound around when you talk to me in that high-excited voice that you dog-lovers like to use.  I'm also stunningly beautiful and you'll long remember my brilliant eyes after we first meet.  Like many chows, I am a bit head-shy and don't like anything placed over my head.  And, while I love licking your hands when they're presented in front of my face, I don't really love those vigorous pets on the body that some humans like to provide (because of this, I probably shouldn't live with smaller kids).

I am housetrained and know some basic obedience commands.  I also *love* the snow (a photo of me in the snow might be just *perfect* for that 2011 Holiday card!

Speaking of holidays, they are quickly approaching!  Are you the special human who will welcome me into your family for the holiday season?!?  My paws are crossed that you might even include me in your 2011 family holiday portrait (it's not too late - those online card companies are offering overnight shipping!)  Let's start our life-long journey together by you coming on down to MaxFund and asking for Rewey!

Shayla

12/20/11: Shayla was adopted!

Sweet, beautiful girl.

Greetings!  I'm Shayla and I'm an intelligent, glass-half-full kinda' girl.  One might ask, "Why the optimistic attitude when you're currently residing in a shelter, Shayla?"  Well, my name "Shayla" means "from the fairy palace."  And since I have yet to see that fairy tale palace, I just KNOW that it's in my immediate future!  I spend my days here checking out all visitors to see if they're the king, queen, prince or princess who has arrived to sweep me away to my happily-ever-after!

I'm a 5-year young, 65-lb doberman who has been described by folks around MaxFund as friendly, loving and quite the cuddler.  Not too much is known about my past as my previous guardian had to leave unexpectedly on a prolonged absence and (s)he didn't have time to tell anyone what a great gal I am.  However, a good samaritan took me in and brought me to MaxFund where I have the best chance of meeting my new royal guardians!

I was a superstar when I underwent my temperance tests here at MaxFund.  While I'm an active gal, the doggie temperament expert thinks I'll be a good, mellow companion who will fit well into most families.  I also know basic obedience commands such as sit and stay.  The MaxFund folks think my previous guardian yelled at me quite a bit so I'm hoping for a home where the guardians prefer to use their "indoor voices" when communicating (such as is fitting any royal family!)

If you're looking to add a loving, beautiful young royal to your family, please HURRY into MaxFund ASAP and ask for Shayla.  Let's start our happily-ever-after sooner-rather-than-later!!

Sadie

Update: Sadie is in foster :)

Sweetie.

Got ball?  ....or anything I can fetch for that matter?  My name is Sadie and my favorite activity is fetching!  At 41-lbs and 9-years young, I'm an active, playful Australian Shepherd who cannot wait to meet my Forever Family!

I was brought into MaxFund with my canine buddy (Sydney) when our previous guardian could no longer care for us.  Unfortunately, I have spent most of my life as an outside dog so I have yet to experience all that family life has to offer.  But, despite my surroundings, I'm a gentle, friendly gal who is great with all people, dogs and cats (did you hear that?!?  I'm good with cats!!)  I've ever met.  As I've spent my life outdoors, I haven't learned what is expected of an indoor dog...with that said, I'm a *very* smart girl who should quickly pick up on any new training, commands or whatever else you expect of me!  And, even though I am rather active, I know when it's time to stop, drop and relax (unlike those silly puppies!)

While I'm quite easy on the eyes, I must mention my most unique feature.  I'm missing the tip of my left ear!  This occurred several years ago during a particularly rough-and-tumble play session with my canine buddies.  Don't worry - it's completely healed and I don't even remember it's missing until I cross paths with a mirror (hee! hee!)

Are you that special someone looking to welcome a GREAT GAL into your home?  Well...what are you waiting for?  Your newest addition is just waiting at MaxFund for YOU...just remember to ask for Sadie!

Rascal

12/20/11: Rascal was adopted!

Big, sweet guy

"You little Rascal?!?"  Howdy!  I'm Rascal - a fantastic 95-lb yellow lab who hasn't heard those words for a while since I'm such a great guy!  I was relinquished to MaxFund as my former guardian became ill and could no longer care for me.  While I'm a little confused with all the life changes, I've seen several of my canine neighbors trot out of here with their new Forever Families and I'm dreaming of the day when that happy Family includes me!

Not too much is known about my former life but I can say that I get along great with all other dogs and cats I've ever encountered.  I've never lived with small children but a great guy such as myself would probably do just fine with them - with that said, be sure to inquire with the MaxFund staff if little tykes are part of your family.  I'm a champion cuddler & live for time spent with my family (4-legged and 2-legged alike!)  I enjoy playing fetch, as well as leash walks around town.

I'll make a great family member to most any family.  Won't you please hurry in to MaxFund soon and let me be one of the next dogs to trot off into the sunset!?!  Remember to ask for Rascal!

Zimora

12/20/11: Zimora was adopted!

Little, sweet husky

Hello Hello!  Thanks for stopping my by very own autobiography site!  I'm Zimora - a 2 year-young petite husky weighing in a 42-lbs.  I'm not sure how such a SMART and FUN girl as myself ended up as a stray...but it happened.  Luckily, I was brought to MaxFund by a good samaritan (thank you!) where the staff is letting me fully participate in finding myself my very own Forever Family!

While I stayed with the aforementioned (now that's a big word for a canine, eh?!?) good samaritan, I lived with children aged 2 to 14 years and we all got along swell.  I also shared space with another dog and even a CAT - and we all enjoyed each other's company.  As an active gal, I'll need an active family who has time for frequent walks or other forms of exercise (dog parks or doggie daycare would probably be fun!)  I'll also need someone who is dedicated to teaching me the canine ropes (that's a fancy way of saying I need some basic obedience training).  Don't let that stop you, though, as I'm so smart (did you catch my extensive vocabulary?!?) that I'll make YOU look like a great dog trainer!!

Like all adolescent gals (and true to my husky breed), I can be a bit of a chatter-box.  But I'm just trying to communicate all these brilliant thoughts that are passing through my head.  If you get a chance to come on in to MaxFund (today, please), I promise you won't regret it - I'll spend my entire life impressing you with my good looks, brilliance and goofy antics! When you arrive at MaxFund remember to ask for Zimora!!

Lacy

11/29/11: Lacy was adopted!

Sweetie :)

Hello there.  I hope you're having a wonderful day!  I'm Lacy - the prim-and-proper lady.  I'm a 4 year-young, 55-lb black labrador/shepherd mix who was found wandering the streets of Denver.  While I was out and about, I may have witnessed some things that weren't meant for a lady's eyes so I can be a bit nervous when you first meet me.  Keep in mind that all ladies may play a little hard-to-get at first (wink! wink!)  However, with a little loving, I warm right on up to everyone I've met!  And once I realize you're respectful of a lady such as myself, I'm full-steam-ahead with my cuddling and loving!

My MaxFund human-friends describe me as an all-around GREAT GIRL!  I thoroughly enjoy the company of other well-behaved dogs as well as all people I've met around MaxFund.  I've not spent much time around cats or small kids but please inquire with the MaxFund folks if these creatures are part of your family.  Car rides are swell and I'd love to accompany my future guardian around town (who wouldn't want such a pretty lady as their co-pilot!?!)

Might a sweet, attractive lady be a good addition to your family?  If so, then please hurry on down to MaxFund and ask for Lacy the Lady!

Sydney

Update: Sydney was adopted!!

This gal has spent her whole life outdoors.  Here's to finding a family who will show her how great a *home* can be!

I hear you're looking for a Best Friend?  Well...here I am!  My name is Sydney and I'm the definition of (wo)man's best friend!  I'm an 8 year-old, 96-lb yellow lab and I'm what everyone is looking for when they think of (wo)man's best friend!

I'm searching for a patient Best Friend who has time to play, cuddle and go on frequent walks (quality time is my number one priority!)  I've recently heard about those so-called "dog parks" and I'd love to check one out sometime!  Maybe we could even try swimming next summer...I am a labrador after all!

Are you that special someone looking to welcome a GREAT GUY into your home?  Well...what are you waiting for?  Your Best Friend is eagerly waiting for YOU at MaxFund.  Hurry on over and ask for Sydney!

Calvin

11/21/11: Calvin was adopted!

Calvin was out and about so I don't have a pic.

Calvin bio

Muah!  Hello friends - I'm Calvin, an 11-month old akita/shar pei mix who was found running on a busy street.  A good samaritan was nice enough to stop their car and call me over.  I headed straight toward this nice soul and s(he) brought me to MaxFund where I've quickly emerged as a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs (I'm rather smitten by my female canine neighbor!), as well as all people I've met.  In addition to my handsome-ness, I'm known for my affectionate personality (I love hugs & prefer kisses on the lips!) & eagerness to please those around me.

Like any young'un, I'll need a family with the time, dedication and patience to teach me what is expected of a stellar adult canine citizen.  I promise to spend my entire life thanking you for your up-front investment!  In fact, I love car rides so I would love to accompany you around town and show-off what a great dog-guardian you are!

If a young, playful, handsome, affectionate 4-legged companion would mesh well in your family, then please hurry on in to MaxFund today so I can demonstrate what a great kisser I am!!  Muah...until we meet!

Jitter Bug

11/29/11: Jitterbug was adopted!

Sweet, shy guy

Single, somewhat reserved but excessively sweet gray terrier mix seeks caring, lovable family for lifelong companionship.  A bit about myself: I'm a 50-lb, 11-month old guy who was transported from a high-kill shelter in a neighboring state when someone realized what a catch I truly am.  I'm currently in the big dog room here at MaxFund actively searching for my Forever Family!

I'm searching for a companion (or companions) who realize what my laid-back approach to life.  When you first visit me, I'll quietly wag my tail while looking deep into your eyes to see if you might be my soul-mate.  The MaxFund folks are working hard to to teach me some typical doggie aspects of a life such a how to walk on a leash and some basic obedience commands.  My easy-going nature allows me to appreciate the company of all people and many canines I've met around MaxFund.  Since I've had no witnessed encounters with cats or young children, I'm unsure how we'd enjoy each other's company.  At the end of each day, I'm hopeful to spend some quality time cuddling with my family (and I'm not a big shedder so I'll take all my hair with me at the end of each cuddling session!)

Are you that special someone searching for a fantastically sweet four-legged companion?  No pressure!  Let's just relax and get to know each other a little.  We can figure out if we're a good match...and THEN I can trot right on out of here into the sunset and into my FOREVER home.

Chanceux

12/26/11 - Chanceux was adopted!

Chanceux was out-and-about when I was at the shelter a few days ago so no picture for now...

Chanceux bio:

Bonjour!  Today is your "Chanceux" day!  Chanceux (pronounced Shawn-sue) means lucky in French...and it's also a great name for such a fabulous guy as myself!  I'm a 70-lb, 3-year old Plott Hound who was relinquished to MaxFund when my family couldn't care for me anymore.  While I'm having a tough time figuring out why all the changes have occurred, I know I'm one lucky guy who will end up with my meant-to-be Forever Family!

My previous guardian left a long list of all the reasons that make me a superb dog.  While the list is too long to provide here in its entirety, I'll try to cram in as much as possible in my allotted space (I'm advertising for myself already!)

First and foremost, I give *some* amazing kisses...one might go as far as to call them legendary (I have a French name after all!)  I love the company of other dogs and having a doggie roomie and/or frequent outings to dog parks or doggie daycare would be wonderful!  My favorite outdoor activities include swimming, playing fetch (I can even catch in the air!), jogging, and hiking (and probably any other activities that can be done outdoors...)  I'm extremely intelligent - I'm housetrained and know many commands (sit, stay, lay down, shake, jump (in which case I'll "place" wherever you want me), etc, etc).  You should come check out the list for yourself...pretty impressive!!  Oh, did I mention that I'm fine around horses?  On the other hand, I must admit that I believe cats were made for chasing so the MaxFund folks say I probably shouldn't live with one.  And I haven't spent too much time around kids (although a big, active guy as myself does pose a knock-over hazard) so please inquire with the MaxFund staff if les enfants are part of your family.

Well...I'm told I'm out of space here so you'll just have to come on down to MaxFund to make my "Chanceux" day! Salut until we meet...

Lucas

11/29/11: Lucas was adopted!

9-months on doggie-death-row without so much as a walk :(

Hello ya'll!  My name is Lucas and I'm a 60-lb, canaan/akita mix who is true Southern Gentleman!  I was rescued from a Southern U.S. State's doggie-death-row and brought out west to find the perfect western Family.  I'm loving the friendly folks - both human and canine.  In fact, my female neighbors' fur looks much more stylish in the absence of humidity!  Don't worry, I'm neutered so my admiration won't progress beyond friendship...

At 3-years-young, I love to frolic with the best of them.  In fact, I'd prefer a home with another friendly dog for me to share my life with.  I have yet to meet any Colorado cats or children up close and personal so I'm not sure how we'll get along...but if they're part of your family, please inquire with the MaxFund folks about how we might enjoy each other's company.

During my 9-month death-row stent, I didn't get out-and-about too much so I'm oh-so-appreciative of the staff and volunteers at MaxFund who are helping me rediscover how great life is.  After all,  "When life hands you lemons, you must just squeeze those lemons right on into some homemade sweet tea!"

If you're looking forward to welcoming a loving, optimistic 4-legged companion into your Family, I just might the Gentleman for you!  And as us Southern Gentleman always look on the sunny side of life, I keep telling myself that "...tomorrow is another day..."  I hope it's the day that YOU come meet ME!

Azlo

11/6/11: Azlo was adopted!!

Love this young guy!!

Bonjour!  I'm Azlo, a 110-lb, 10-month old puppy who makes my breed proud!  Us Great Pyrenees are a very old breed, and have been used for hundreds of years by shepherds in southern France and northern Spain.  In nature, we are confident, gentle, and affectionate. Our general demeanor is one of composure, patience and tolerance.  Yup....that's me in a big, white nutshell!

As I made my way to MaxFund courtesy of a good samaritan who found me as a stray, not too much is known about my first few months of life.  Of course, any 110-lb puppy will need a family with the time, patience and dedication to ensure that I grow up into a superb adult canine citizen!  While I really appreciate the MaxFund folks working tirelessly to find my perfect match, I can say that I'm not a huge fan of this shelter environment - my genetic makeup (and personality) is much more suited for some running space and human-bonding than sitting in a kennel!  As an optimistic guy, I'm hoping my shelter stent is short & sweet and that I'll soon be bringing warmth and love into my true Forever Family!  As more information about me is gathered, I promise to update my bio...but I'm hoping that I'm "home" before anyone has time to enter that update!!

Are you the special (and lucky) person who will get to enjoy my coziness this winter?  If so, please hurry on over to MaxFund so we can get on with our lives together!

Prince-Kingston

Update: Prince-Kingston was adopted!

He is truly handsome - this picture doesn't do him justice!!

Hello mon!  And thank you for taking time to visit my own personalized autobiography page!  Vital statistics first...I'm Prince-Kingston, a 4 year-young, 54-lb handsome shepherd/ridgeback mix who is searching for my Forever Family.  Yes, yes, I know....some may initially think "handsome" isn't part of my vital statistics - but I assure you that once you lay eyes on me, you'll agree that "handsome" belongs right where I placed it in this bio!

As a polite young man, I'm already housebroken and couldn't imagine chewing any non-edibles in your home.  I'm an active guy who loves to swim and I am a great jogging partner.  I'm also known for my champion snuggler skills!  In my previous home, I was always well-behaved around children-visitors but my experience is limited.  I need to go to a home with no other pets but I promise that I'll do everything within my power to fulfill all your 4-legged companion needs!

If a brilliant, snuggly, handsome young canine sounds like a good match for you, please hurry on in to MaxFund and ask for Prince-Kingston!  I'm waiting...

Einstein

Einstein was adopted!!

The first St. Bernard I've done a bio on.  Gentle giant thru-and-thru

Guten Tag! Bonjour! Ciao! Grüezi  That's how you say hello in the 4 national languages of my ancestral country, Switzerland!  I know that my greeting may be considered a little over-the-top coming from a canine...but they don't call me Einstein for nothing!!

Hello fellow Americans!  I'm Einsten - a 140-lb 1 year-old St. Bernard who will make the perfect addition to some lucky family.  I was brought to MaxFund by a good samaritan who found me as a stray.  For some silly reason, my former guardian never claimed me so I'm now available for adoption.

As I'm still a youngster (I love to play with toys), I'll need a family with the time and dedication to teach me what is expected of a superstar adult canine citizen.  To be honest, though, training such an intelligent, gentle guy should be fun for both of us!  And, I'm already housetrained and well-behaved on a leash.  I also love car rides!  Since I'm rather new around MaxFund, we aren't sure how I like other dogs, cats or kids but I'll be sure the humans update my bio as soon as any new information is available.

If a goofy, gentle, good-looking, genius (ok...that could be stretching it a little but I'm selling myself here!!) canine sounds like a good fit for your family, please stop by MaxFund today and ask for Einstein!

Isabella

10/31/11: Isabella was adopted!

Beautiful gal

The third time is a charm...I'm sure of it!

Hello all!  I'm Isabella - a fun-loving, 55-lb shepherd mix who is looking forward to my third chance at a Forever Family!  Chance #1 - I ended up at another area shelter as a wee lil' pup.  Chance #2 - I was adopted by a family who I loved very much but, sadly, they didn't bring me with them when they moved.  Chance #3 - stay tuned!!!

At 2-years young, I'm still full of puppy energy.   Don't worry, I am potty-trained and know several commands such as sit, shake, kiss, lay and roll over.  I love to romp with other dogs and also enjoy the company of well-behaved children.  I've never lived with a cat but I do fine squirrel-chasing very fun so I'm not sure if I could co-habitate with a cat.  I make a fantastic jogging partner and I'm quite the water-dog.

Are you that special someone who will adopt and *keep* me forever?!?  I just know that my third times a charm!  When you come visit, remember to ask for the beautiful Isabella!

Aliah

12/12/11: Aliah was adopted!

Sweetie pie!

Hi there!  I'm Aliah, a sweet 1 year-old, 50-lb shepherd/boxer mix who was left in an area dog park to play my life away.  While I love playing with other dogs, we all need such things as water, food and shelter to live life to its fullest &, lucky for me, a good samaritan noticed that I was human-less in the park - and (s)he brought me home.  When my previous family couldn't be located, I was brought to MaxFund where I'm eagerly searching for a guardian to call my very own!

My name, Aliah, means "rising" or "ascending" which is a great way to describe my current lot in life.  I am a young, bright gal who already is housetrained and knows some basic commands such as "sit" and "lie down."  Even with my head start, I would appreciate a family who has the time and dedication to teach me some more about being a fantastic adult canine citizen (obedience training would be swell!)  The good samaritan who rescued me had some smaller children & we got along just fine.  I haven't ever lived with a cat so I'm not sure how we'd get along.

If you're looking for an attractive, playful pup with *tons* of potential, then I just might be your gal!  Please hurry on in to MaxFund and ask for Aliah!

Isac-Jay

10/31/11: Isac-Jay was adopted!

Not sure how they know he's a boston terrier/lab mix but he's so cute!

Isac-Jay

I've heard that there are people out there that will 100% commit to their canine-family-member for a lifetime...wow!  I want to meet me one of those humans!

G'day!  I'm Isac-Jay, a 45-lb, 5-year-young boston terrier/labrador mix who was simply left behind when my previous family moved.  I'm not quite sure why they didn't take me with them as I do my darnedest to be a fantastic family member.  I'm housetrained, know basic obedience commands, good on a leash, good in the car and love the company of kids and other dogs!  The only thing I can think of is that they moved into a new home that is full of felines...and I don't really care so much for felines.  Otherwise, I can't think of a single reason why anyone wouldn't want to keep me as part of their family...

But enough about the past, I'm now focused on the future!  I know there are countless people out there who are looking for a loving, friendly canine...who's also rather easy on the eyes (hee! hee!)  If you're that special human who can promise to never leave me for a house-full-of-felines, please come on down to MaxFund today so we can meet and start our Forever life together!

Titus 2

10/31/11: Titus was adopted!

This guy is about as close to perfect as they come :)

Ciao!  Titus here.  I'm a 3 year-young, 50-lb heeler mix who is one of the coolest dogs to arrive at MaxFund in a loooong time.  I was found by some good samaritans who took me into their home while trying to find my family.  When no one claimed me, they were thoughtful enough to bring me to MaxFund where I'm 100% confident that my perfect match is going to walk around that corner any moment now!

I've been described as mellow, good-natured, super-friendly and a *perfect* dog (although I'm humble enough to know that none of us are perfect!).  I can say that I'm housetrained, very polite on a leash, obedient and very committed pleasing my humans.  I already know how to "sit", "stay" and "shake" - and I would love further obedience training.  I'm an active guy who enjoys playing with other dogs and I've even been known to enjoy the company of cats.  Although no one around MaxFund has seen me around young children, such a cool guy as myself would probably do fine around any and all well-behaved creatures.  Of course, like all MaxFund temporary residents, I'll need to meet all potential family members to ensure that we're a match!

Won't you please make my day by being that special person coming around the corner in the Big Dog Room at MaxFund?  You can just head straight on over to my kennel...it's the one that says "Titus" and has the handsome-est guy politely waiting for *you*!

Reptar

10/31/11: Reptar was adopted!

He is a *great* pup!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!  Fantastic 7-month old labrador/shepherd mix currently at MaxFund would make a *great* Family dog!

Hello!  I'm Reptar, a 41-lb puppy who was found as a stray here in Denver.  A good samaritan welcomed me into their home while they searched for my family.  I had a blast staying at their home playing with the other dogs and kids - but, sadly, we had to part ways as their home was at full-capacity.  I'm so thankful that they opted to bring me to MaxFund where I'm enjoying myself while I wait eagerly for my true Forever Family!

Although I'm a young'un and will need a Family dedicated to teaching me how to become a great adult canine, I have a head start as I know some basic obedience commands and I'm kennel-trained.  I'm also rather easy-going for a pup and LOVE ALL people I've met.  I have yet to have a witnessed encounter with a cat so please inquire with the MaxFund folks if felines are part of your family.

Enough readin' already, let's get to a-meetin'!  Please come down to MaxFund for a visit & be sure to ask for "Reptar"!

Jenny

11/6/11: Jenny was adopted!!

Jenny updated bio:

Hi-ya!  My name is Jenny and I'm a 6-month young cute-as-a-button labrador/german shepherd puppy.  I was brought to MaxFund by my former owner who didn't have time to care for such a young pup as myself.  While coming to the shelter is a bit overwhelming, I know that MaxFund is committed to helping me find a Family with the time, dedication and patience to teach me what is expected of an excellent adult canine citizen.  And I'm enjoying meeting some really great people while I wait for that special someone!

My favorite pass-time includes playing with rope toys.  Come to think of it, playing in about *any* way is pretty darn fantastic!  In fact, I tend to play rather rough so can overwhelm younger children and other dogs.  Like all adoptees at MaxFund, I'll need to meet all family members before deciding if we can be roomies.  I did live with a cat in my previous home and we co-habitated just fine.

While I might need some guidance as I grow up, I have a bit of a head start as I already know how to "sit" and I'm kennel trained.  I also enjoy car rides and love all people I've met.  I promise that your investment in my development will be repaid a gazillion-fold over the course of my lifetime!  Please hurry on in to MaxFund TODAY and be sure to ask for "Jenny"!

-----------
Jenny's file wasn't available - hence the bare-bones bio.  I'll update it as soon as more info is available...

Hi-ya!  My name is Jenny and I'm a 6-month young cute-as-a-button puppy.  I'm a playful, outgoing, energetic pup who loves all people I've met.  Like all youngsters, I'll need a family with the time, dedication and patience to teach me canine-manners.  But I promise to spend my life making investment worth-your-while!

Since I'm new around MaxFund, not too much is known about me but I promise that the MaxFund folks will update my biography as we all get to know each other better!  But you don't have to wait for the update...hurry on over to MaxFund and get to know me in person!  Remember to ask for Jenny!

Bedford

10/23/11: Bedford was adopted!

This guy is absolutely stunning.

Hi there! My name is Bedford and I’m an awesome 10-month old, 59-lb malamute/husky
mix. I keep hearing 2-legged people say, “Look at those blue eyes!” And, don’t fret, I’m not
a tease…if you love me (and my eyes!), I’ll follow-through with all the kisses and loving
you could want!  I came to MaxFund from another area shelter because they realized
just what a great guy I am & they knew that MaxFund would commit to finding me the
 perfect family that I deserve!

Although I'm still a puppy, I'm rather well-behaved & am very eager to learn.  Like all
young'uns, I enjoy playing - fetch is especially fun.  I have a bit of a chase-instinct when
it comes to little creatures (such as cats and smaller dogs) so I'll need to be sure to meet
all potential family members before we decide if we can cohabitate.

When I shut my beautiful eyes, I dream of the day I can join your family for a day full of
romping, followed by an evening of snuggling and loving before turning in for a long
winter’s night. Won’t you please come visit me? I have a lifetime of love to offer– so let’s
get started!

Leo

12/26/11: Leo was adopted!

Love this guy :)

Got mutt?

Well, why the heck not?!?  Us mutts are the absolute best canines!  Howdy!  I'm Leo, a 4-year-old, 55-lb shepherd/hound/boxer/who-knows-what-else fantastic guy!  I was relinquished with my adopted-brother, Otis, when our previous owner could not care for us any longer.  That Otis claims he's some "designer" breed but really he's a mutt too - just one that they've given a fancy name (Puggle)!  Well, I'll show him...I'm calling myself a Shehoubox!  So there!

While Otis and I have grown up together, we don't need to be adopted into the same home (our number one priority is that we each find the perfect Forever Family)!  I'm hoping for an active family as some of my favorite activities include visiting dog parks, going on jogs and taking car trips.  I'm housetrained and past that annoying puppy-phase of life.  I've always been on my best behavior around all children I've met (even infants).  However, cats are a different story as I believe they were made for chasing!  Speaking of chasing, I am able to leap a 6-ft fence in a single-bound so I'll need my future family to have a tall, secure fence to ensure that I'm kept safe & sound in my new home.

I sure hope you can take some time to visit me soon.  I promise to show you just how wonderful us Shehoubox's are!

Otis

11/6/11: Otis was adopted!

Cute name for a cute guy!

Got lap?

Hello! Hello!  I'm Otis, one fun-loving lap-dog!  I'm an active, clever young guy who was relinquished along with my adopted-brother, Leo, when our owner could no longer care for us.  While we've grown up together, Leo and I do not necessarily need to be adopted into the same home as our number one priority is that we each find the perfect Forever Family!

At 4-years-young, I'm past that annoying chewing-phase of life.  I'm already housetrained, good on a leash and know some basic obedience commands.  I enjoy the company of other friendly dogs and I even *love* trips to the dog-park!  With regards to cats, I am interested in them and have been known to follow them around but I've not shown any aggression.  I'm also good with all kids I've met.  The MaxFund folks say I must mention that I'm quite the escape-artist (that goes along with my clever-ness!) so I'll need a family that will commit to keeping me safe and sound in my new home.

In addition to all of my fabulous aforementioned personality traits, I'm one of those so-called designer breeds...a Puggle!  That's a pug/beagle mix for those of you that may be familiar with our type.

A well-trained, cuddly, friendly, designer breed pup is quite the find if I do say so myself (wink! wink!).  If you've got a lap worthy of such a wonderful young canine, please hurry down to MaxFund today and remember to ask for "Otis!"

Jake 2

10/26/11: Jake was adopted!

Such cute, floppy ears.

Man oh man!  Isn't life awesome?!?  I mean, I just do what you 2-legged folks want...you give me yummy treats!!  I smile...you smile!!  I drop a ball at your feet...you throw it!!  WootWoot!  Life. Is. Good.

An enthusiastic hello to everyone!  I'm Jake (known around here at "Jake 2"), a 2-year-old, 78-lb lab-weimaraner mix who was relinquished by my former owner because they could no longer care for me.  I'm taking my Family search very seriously & my number one priority is to find an active, loving Forever Family who loves life as much as I do!

As you might have guessed I'm a bouncy, bubbly guy who will need a guardian with time & energy to devote toward helping me become a good dog citizen.  I've got a head start as I'm housetrained & already know the following "commands": sit, stay, down, get back, go potty, crate and speak!   I really enjoy playing with other dogs and frequent dog-park trips would be fantastic!  A fellow well-behaved canine roomie would be fun and I even enjoy the company of cats!   Although I like all people I've met, I probably shouldn't live with very small humans as they might get bumped over in my enthusiasm for life.

I'm crate-trained and like to be left in my crate when you're not home - although I hope our time spent apart is few & far between.  My accompanying you around town should work out great as I love car rides, camping, hiking, jogging and even swimming!  And when we're home, my cuddling-abilities are award-worthy!

If you're a life-is-good kinda human, I just might be your perfect match!  Please hurry on down to MaxFund and ask for "Jake 2" so we can meet, fall in love and get on with our life together!!
