Einstein

Einstein was adopted!!

The first St. Bernard I've done a bio on.  Gentle giant thru-and-thru

Guten Tag! Bonjour! Ciao! Grüezi  That's how you say hello in the 4 national languages of my ancestral country, Switzerland!  I know that my greeting may be considered a little over-the-top coming from a canine...but they don't call me Einstein for nothing!!

Hello fellow Americans!  I'm Einsten - a 140-lb 1 year-old St. Bernard who will make the perfect addition to some lucky family.  I was brought to MaxFund by a good samaritan who found me as a stray.  For some silly reason, my former guardian never claimed me so I'm now available for adoption.

As I'm still a youngster (I love to play with toys), I'll need a family with the time and dedication to teach me what is expected of a superstar adult canine citizen.  To be honest, though, training such an intelligent, gentle guy should be fun for both of us!  And, I'm already housetrained and well-behaved on a leash.  I also love car rides!  Since I'm rather new around MaxFund, we aren't sure how I like other dogs, cats or kids but I'll be sure the humans update my bio as soon as any new information is available.

If a goofy, gentle, good-looking, genius (ok...that could be stretching it a little but I'm selling myself here!!) canine sounds like a good fit for your family, please stop by MaxFund today and ask for Einstein!

Isabella

10/31/11: Isabella was adopted!

Beautiful gal

The third time is a charm...I'm sure of it!

Hello all!  I'm Isabella - a fun-loving, 55-lb shepherd mix who is looking forward to my third chance at a Forever Family!  Chance #1 - I ended up at another area shelter as a wee lil' pup.  Chance #2 - I was adopted by a family who I loved very much but, sadly, they didn't bring me with them when they moved.  Chance #3 - stay tuned!!!

At 2-years young, I'm still full of puppy energy.   Don't worry, I am potty-trained and know several commands such as sit, shake, kiss, lay and roll over.  I love to romp with other dogs and also enjoy the company of well-behaved children.  I've never lived with a cat but I do fine squirrel-chasing very fun so I'm not sure if I could co-habitate with a cat.  I make a fantastic jogging partner and I'm quite the water-dog.

Are you that special someone who will adopt and *keep* me forever?!?  I just know that my third times a charm!  When you come visit, remember to ask for the beautiful Isabella!

Aliah

12/12/11: Aliah was adopted!

Sweetie pie!

Hi there!  I'm Aliah, a sweet 1 year-old, 50-lb shepherd/boxer mix who was left in an area dog park to play my life away.  While I love playing with other dogs, we all need such things as water, food and shelter to live life to its fullest &, lucky for me, a good samaritan noticed that I was human-less in the park - and (s)he brought me home.  When my previous family couldn't be located, I was brought to MaxFund where I'm eagerly searching for a guardian to call my very own!

My name, Aliah, means "rising" or "ascending" which is a great way to describe my current lot in life.  I am a young, bright gal who already is housetrained and knows some basic commands such as "sit" and "lie down."  Even with my head start, I would appreciate a family who has the time and dedication to teach me some more about being a fantastic adult canine citizen (obedience training would be swell!)  The good samaritan who rescued me had some smaller children & we got along just fine.  I haven't ever lived with a cat so I'm not sure how we'd get along.

If you're looking for an attractive, playful pup with *tons* of potential, then I just might be your gal!  Please hurry on in to MaxFund and ask for Aliah!

Isac-Jay

10/31/11: Isac-Jay was adopted!

Not sure how they know he's a boston terrier/lab mix but he's so cute!

Isac-Jay

I've heard that there are people out there that will 100% commit to their canine-family-member for a lifetime...wow!  I want to meet me one of those humans!

G'day!  I'm Isac-Jay, a 45-lb, 5-year-young boston terrier/labrador mix who was simply left behind when my previous family moved.  I'm not quite sure why they didn't take me with them as I do my darnedest to be a fantastic family member.  I'm housetrained, know basic obedience commands, good on a leash, good in the car and love the company of kids and other dogs!  The only thing I can think of is that they moved into a new home that is full of felines...and I don't really care so much for felines.  Otherwise, I can't think of a single reason why anyone wouldn't want to keep me as part of their family...

But enough about the past, I'm now focused on the future!  I know there are countless people out there who are looking for a loving, friendly canine...who's also rather easy on the eyes (hee! hee!)  If you're that special human who can promise to never leave me for a house-full-of-felines, please come on down to MaxFund today so we can meet and start our Forever life together!

Titus 2

10/31/11: Titus was adopted!

This guy is about as close to perfect as they come :)

Ciao!  Titus here.  I'm a 3 year-young, 50-lb heeler mix who is one of the coolest dogs to arrive at MaxFund in a loooong time.  I was found by some good samaritans who took me into their home while trying to find my family.  When no one claimed me, they were thoughtful enough to bring me to MaxFund where I'm 100% confident that my perfect match is going to walk around that corner any moment now!

I've been described as mellow, good-natured, super-friendly and a *perfect* dog (although I'm humble enough to know that none of us are perfect!).  I can say that I'm housetrained, very polite on a leash, obedient and very committed pleasing my humans.  I already know how to "sit", "stay" and "shake" - and I would love further obedience training.  I'm an active guy who enjoys playing with other dogs and I've even been known to enjoy the company of cats.  Although no one around MaxFund has seen me around young children, such a cool guy as myself would probably do fine around any and all well-behaved creatures.  Of course, like all MaxFund temporary residents, I'll need to meet all potential family members to ensure that we're a match!

Won't you please make my day by being that special person coming around the corner in the Big Dog Room at MaxFund?  You can just head straight on over to my kennel...it's the one that says "Titus" and has the handsome-est guy politely waiting for *you*!

Reptar

10/31/11: Reptar was adopted!

He is a *great* pup!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!  Fantastic 7-month old labrador/shepherd mix currently at MaxFund would make a *great* Family dog!

Hello!  I'm Reptar, a 41-lb puppy who was found as a stray here in Denver.  A good samaritan welcomed me into their home while they searched for my family.  I had a blast staying at their home playing with the other dogs and kids - but, sadly, we had to part ways as their home was at full-capacity.  I'm so thankful that they opted to bring me to MaxFund where I'm enjoying myself while I wait eagerly for my true Forever Family!

Although I'm a young'un and will need a Family dedicated to teaching me how to become a great adult canine, I have a head start as I know some basic obedience commands and I'm kennel-trained.  I'm also rather easy-going for a pup and LOVE ALL people I've met.  I have yet to have a witnessed encounter with a cat so please inquire with the MaxFund folks if felines are part of your family.

Enough readin' already, let's get to a-meetin'!  Please come down to MaxFund for a visit & be sure to ask for "Reptar"!

Jenny

11/6/11: Jenny was adopted!!

Jenny updated bio:

Hi-ya!  My name is Jenny and I'm a 6-month young cute-as-a-button labrador/german shepherd puppy.  I was brought to MaxFund by my former owner who didn't have time to care for such a young pup as myself.  While coming to the shelter is a bit overwhelming, I know that MaxFund is committed to helping me find a Family with the time, dedication and patience to teach me what is expected of an excellent adult canine citizen.  And I'm enjoying meeting some really great people while I wait for that special someone!

My favorite pass-time includes playing with rope toys.  Come to think of it, playing in about *any* way is pretty darn fantastic!  In fact, I tend to play rather rough so can overwhelm younger children and other dogs.  Like all adoptees at MaxFund, I'll need to meet all family members before deciding if we can be roomies.  I did live with a cat in my previous home and we co-habitated just fine.

While I might need some guidance as I grow up, I have a bit of a head start as I already know how to "sit" and I'm kennel trained.  I also enjoy car rides and love all people I've met.  I promise that your investment in my development will be repaid a gazillion-fold over the course of my lifetime!  Please hurry on in to MaxFund TODAY and be sure to ask for "Jenny"!

-----------
Jenny's file wasn't available - hence the bare-bones bio.  I'll update it as soon as more info is available...

Hi-ya!  My name is Jenny and I'm a 6-month young cute-as-a-button puppy.  I'm a playful, outgoing, energetic pup who loves all people I've met.  Like all youngsters, I'll need a family with the time, dedication and patience to teach me canine-manners.  But I promise to spend my life making investment worth-your-while!

Since I'm new around MaxFund, not too much is known about me but I promise that the MaxFund folks will update my biography as we all get to know each other better!  But you don't have to wait for the update...hurry on over to MaxFund and get to know me in person!  Remember to ask for Jenny!

Bedford

10/23/11: Bedford was adopted!

This guy is absolutely stunning.

Hi there! My name is Bedford and I’m an awesome 10-month old, 59-lb malamute/husky
mix. I keep hearing 2-legged people say, “Look at those blue eyes!” And, don’t fret, I’m not
a tease…if you love me (and my eyes!), I’ll follow-through with all the kisses and loving
you could want!  I came to MaxFund from another area shelter because they realized
just what a great guy I am & they knew that MaxFund would commit to finding me the
 perfect family that I deserve!

Although I'm still a puppy, I'm rather well-behaved & am very eager to learn.  Like all
young'uns, I enjoy playing - fetch is especially fun.  I have a bit of a chase-instinct when
it comes to little creatures (such as cats and smaller dogs) so I'll need to be sure to meet
all potential family members before we decide if we can cohabitate.

When I shut my beautiful eyes, I dream of the day I can join your family for a day full of
romping, followed by an evening of snuggling and loving before turning in for a long
winter’s night. Won’t you please come visit me? I have a lifetime of love to offer– so let’s
get started!

Leo

12/26/11: Leo was adopted!

Love this guy :)

Got mutt?

Well, why the heck not?!?  Us mutts are the absolute best canines!  Howdy!  I'm Leo, a 4-year-old, 55-lb shepherd/hound/boxer/who-knows-what-else fantastic guy!  I was relinquished with my adopted-brother, Otis, when our previous owner could not care for us any longer.  That Otis claims he's some "designer" breed but really he's a mutt too - just one that they've given a fancy name (Puggle)!  Well, I'll show him...I'm calling myself a Shehoubox!  So there!

While Otis and I have grown up together, we don't need to be adopted into the same home (our number one priority is that we each find the perfect Forever Family)!  I'm hoping for an active family as some of my favorite activities include visiting dog parks, going on jogs and taking car trips.  I'm housetrained and past that annoying puppy-phase of life.  I've always been on my best behavior around all children I've met (even infants).  However, cats are a different story as I believe they were made for chasing!  Speaking of chasing, I am able to leap a 6-ft fence in a single-bound so I'll need my future family to have a tall, secure fence to ensure that I'm kept safe & sound in my new home.

I sure hope you can take some time to visit me soon.  I promise to show you just how wonderful us Shehoubox's are!

Otis

11/6/11: Otis was adopted!

Cute name for a cute guy!

Got lap?

Hello! Hello!  I'm Otis, one fun-loving lap-dog!  I'm an active, clever young guy who was relinquished along with my adopted-brother, Leo, when our owner could no longer care for us.  While we've grown up together, Leo and I do not necessarily need to be adopted into the same home as our number one priority is that we each find the perfect Forever Family!

At 4-years-young, I'm past that annoying chewing-phase of life.  I'm already housetrained, good on a leash and know some basic obedience commands.  I enjoy the company of other friendly dogs and I even *love* trips to the dog-park!  With regards to cats, I am interested in them and have been known to follow them around but I've not shown any aggression.  I'm also good with all kids I've met.  The MaxFund folks say I must mention that I'm quite the escape-artist (that goes along with my clever-ness!) so I'll need a family that will commit to keeping me safe and sound in my new home.

In addition to all of my fabulous aforementioned personality traits, I'm one of those so-called designer breeds...a Puggle!  That's a pug/beagle mix for those of you that may be familiar with our type.

A well-trained, cuddly, friendly, designer breed pup is quite the find if I do say so myself (wink! wink!).  If you've got a lap worthy of such a wonderful young canine, please hurry down to MaxFund today and remember to ask for "Otis!"

Jake 2

10/26/11: Jake was adopted!

Such cute, floppy ears.

Man oh man!  Isn't life awesome?!?  I mean, I just do what you 2-legged folks want...you give me yummy treats!!  I smile...you smile!!  I drop a ball at your feet...you throw it!!  WootWoot!  Life. Is. Good.

An enthusiastic hello to everyone!  I'm Jake (known around here at "Jake 2"), a 2-year-old, 78-lb lab-weimaraner mix who was relinquished by my former owner because they could no longer care for me.  I'm taking my Family search very seriously & my number one priority is to find an active, loving Forever Family who loves life as much as I do!

As you might have guessed I'm a bouncy, bubbly guy who will need a guardian with time & energy to devote toward helping me become a good dog citizen.  I've got a head start as I'm housetrained & already know the following "commands": sit, stay, down, get back, go potty, crate and speak!   I really enjoy playing with other dogs and frequent dog-park trips would be fantastic!  A fellow well-behaved canine roomie would be fun and I even enjoy the company of cats!   Although I like all people I've met, I probably shouldn't live with very small humans as they might get bumped over in my enthusiasm for life.

I'm crate-trained and like to be left in my crate when you're not home - although I hope our time spent apart is few & far between.  My accompanying you around town should work out great as I love car rides, camping, hiking, jogging and even swimming!  And when we're home, my cuddling-abilities are award-worthy!

If you're a life-is-good kinda human, I just might be your perfect match!  Please hurry on down to MaxFund and ask for "Jake 2" so we can meet, fall in love and get on with our life together!!

Sheena

10/15/11: Sheena was adopted!

Sheena was at an event (along with her file) yesterday.  Here's a bare bones bio:

Sheena bio

Sheena...Queen of the Jungle here!  Howdy there - I'm Sheena, an adult beagle who was brought in by my former guardian because he couldn't take care of me anymore.  I'm really not too much work, though, so I'm hoping the perfect Forever Family swings right on by MaxFund & takes me home (aka, to my new & improved jungle) *soon*!

True to my name (and like many beagles), I sure have a lot to communicate.  Just like Sheena was able to communicate with orphaned animals, I'm able to communicate with 4-legged and 2-legged creatures alike.  I'm great with other dogs and am currently sharing a crate with another friendly dog here at MaxFund.

Although not too much is known about me at the time of my bio publication, the MaxFund folks are busy getting to know me and will update my bio soon (I'd do it myself but I don't have thumbs!)  Hope to meet that special someone even before the bio update occurs...so hurry down!

Baby

1/3/12: Baby was adopted!

Cutie-pie!

My name is Baby and I've been having this recurring dream where I'm being serenaded...the lyrics go something like this:

Be my be my baby - Be my little baby
I want it only say - Say you'll be my darling
Be my be my baby - Be my baby now
I want it only say - Ooh, ohh, ohh, oh

And then I wake up here at MaxFund and realize that I haven't found that special person to serenade me...YET!  I'm a 3-year-old, 64-lb cute-as-a-button boxer/lab mix whose lived in several different homes during the course of my short life.  In my last home, I lived with 3 other dogs and didn't get along with 1 of them (although I got along great with the other 2!) so I was relinquished to MaxFund.  I was sad to leave my family as I do my darned-est to be a good girl but I'm looking forward to being someone's Forever Baby!

I've been described as loyal, playful and a good jogging partner (hint! hint!)  I am a strong girl so will need a home with some dog-experience and who has the time and patience to teach me what is expected of a stellar canine citizen.  I already have a head start thought as I am housetrained, enjoy car rides and I really cherish cuddle-time!  I think cats were made for chasing so I probably shouldn't live with one.

I dream of the day that I can serenade my special human(s) with:

I'll make you happy, baby - Just wait and see
For every kiss you give me - I'll give you three
Oh, since the day I saw you - I have been waiting for you
You know I will adore you - Till eternity

Granby

A great guy - but a bit food-protective so will need an experienced home...

Good day, fellow Coloradans!  I'm Granby, a 3 year-old black lab/shar pei mix who *loves* this Rocky Mountain State of ours.  I've bounced around Colorado quite a bit in my short span on this earth and I'm ready to settle in with an loving, active Forever Family!

I'm a very smart & playful young man who knows basic obedience commands, loves car rides & is very eager to please my humans.  I'm a lean 50-lb-playing machine who hopes to become part of a family that prioritizes outdoor activities as much as I do. I think I'm in the best possible location to meet such a Family as I hear that Colorado has a reputation for being a state of active and athletic people (& dogs!)  If you can't tell, I'm a glass-half-full kinda guy!

I am a bit picky about my fellow canine companions but I've enjoyed meeting & spending time with several friendly dogs around MaxFund.  I can be a bit protective of my food so will need to take my meals in solitude.  I think cats are fun TO CHASE so the MaxFund folks say I can't live with any cats.  Also, I should probably only live with older children since I'm such an active guy.

If you're on the search for a native Coloradan canine to warm up your winter, please head on over to MaxFund today and ask for "Granby"!

Archie

12/12/11: Archie was adopted!!

He's a big goof!!

Hi-ya, world!  I'm Archie, a happy-go-lucky boxer mix who LOVES LIFE!  I'm an active, clownish guy who weighs about 78 lbs. I was found as a stray here in Denver and was brought to MaxFund by a good samaritan.

At 1 year-young, I have plenty of puppy left in me!  I have a fantastic demeanor & get along well with all people I've met as well as other friendly dogs (although I can be a bit overwhelming to them at first).  I've never had a witnessed encounter with a cat so would need to meet one before knowing whether we could co-habitate.  And, with regards to those little humans you refer to as "children", I'm likely to knock them over with my exuberance so I should probably stick with older "children" for now.

Like any adolescent male, I'll need a Family with the time, patience and dedication to teach me what is expected of an excellent adult citizen.  The MaxFund folks keep using the term "potential" when they see me - I'm not sure what exactly "potential" means but I can tell you I've naturally got the looks, personality and athleticism of a superstar canine so I'm now committed to this "potential" thing!

Are you looking for a fun-loving young guy to share a lifetime with?  Well then, we might just be a perfect match!  Please come visit MaxFund - and don't forget to ask for "Archie"!
Let's make the Fall 2011 one we'll always remember!

Spud

Update: Spud was adopted!!

Spud is in foster :)

Sweet, sweet.

Spud bio

Hello all!  My name is Spud and I have two Fall 2011 Resolutions.  Yes, I know that Resolutions are typically associated with New Year's but, heck, I've got goals here!  So here they are: 1) Find a Forever Family who will enjoy a lifetime of loving, snuggling and loyalty. 2) Get back my figure.

I am an 11-year young black lab/corgi mix who has had a rough go-at-it lately.  I ended up as a stray in Denver and was very appreciative when a good samaritan welcomed me into her home while she searched for my family.  When no one claimed me, she brought me to MaxFund where I'm getting medical treatment for some arthritis, as well as regular activity while I search for my Forever Family!

I'm quite the amazing dog and I love all friendly dogs and cats that I've encountered.  I'm a super-star cuddler who has been described as easy-going and relaxed.  I'm housetrained and am quite the gentleman in the house.  With regards to children, I enjoy their company but I need them to understand the meaning of the term "gentle hands" - so older children would probably be best.

Like so many of us who go through tough times, I haven't prioritized my well-being.  That's a fancy way to say that I've lost my figure...ya know, gained weight (I currently weigh about 65 lbs).  BUT, Fall 2011 is *my* time to meet my Forever Family and walk/exercise off all this excess weight!  Lucky for you, several studies (by the National Institutes of Health, nonetheless!) show that dog owners who regularly walk their dogs are more physically active, more mobile inside their homes, less likely to be obese, and experience less stress, anxiety and loneliness!  Research also shows that walking your dog helps contribute to positive, enjoyable social interactions!  Woah baby!  Looks like we'll both benefit by regular exercise!

So, are you looking for a cuddly, well-trained, friendly, easy-going canine companion who has big aspirations for Fall 2011?  Well, HERE I AM!  I hope we can get to know each other on a walk outside the shelter.  It's been a long-road to find the perfect Forever Family - but I know you're out there just waiting for me...and I know you're worth my wait!  I promise to do everything in my power to keep YOU contented and happy.

Boomer

Boomer was adopted!

Sweet guy who sat in his kennel when I went to meet him

I hear you’re looking for a Best Friend?  Well…here I am!  My name is Boomer and I’m the definition of (wo)man’s Best Friend!  I’m a 3 y/o, 45 lb collie mix & I’m what everyone is looking for when they think of (wo)man’s Best Friend!
I’d love a Best Friend that is active by day & into cuddling by-night (or vice versa ;o)!  My fur is very soft and I just know you’ll love cozying right on up to me!
I was brought to MaxFund when my previous owner moved and couldn't take me with him/her.  How someone could leave a Best Friend behind, I'm not quite sure but I'm oh-so-grateful that they chose MaxFund to find me the perfect FOREVER Best Friend and Family!!

I'm an excellent young guy and I love the company of all dogs, people and even cats that I've met!   I enjoy car rides, am housetrained and know some basic obedience commands.  Although I've been described as easygoing, I sure do appreciate my play-time (playing fetch and going on jogs are some of my favorite activities).  Speaking of my athleticism, I'm quite the impressive jumper (& escape artist) so I'll need a Best Friend with a secure fence who has the time and dedication to ensure that I'm kept safe at home.
What are you waiting for?  Your BFF (Best Friend Forever) is waiting for YOU at MaxFund.  Just ask for Boomer!

Patches

11/6/11: Patches was adopted!

I'll never understand how someone could relinquish their 8 y/o dog.  At least they chose a no-kill shelter...

Hello!  I'm Patches & I'm quite the looker.   What's my best physical feature, you might ask?  Well, my markings (for which I named!) are at the top of the list.  But my beautiful brown eyes and toothy grin are definitely up there too!   When you first see me at MaxFund, I'll give a gentle wag, tilt my head to the side, lift my ears & give a little grin.  As my former owner relinquished me, I haven't had quite as much to grin about lately - but, I'm a natural optimist and know that a lifetime of grins are in my future!

I'm an 8 y/o pointer mix who weighs about 50-lbs.  I'm housetrained and know basic obedience commands ("sit", "go", "lay down", "off" and "out" are amongst my known commands).  I'm a friendly, outgoing and athletic girl who especially loves affection from humans.  I'm good with all kids and cats that I've met.  I also love the company of smaller, friendly dogs.

So, enough about me - I'm looking forward to learning about YOU!  As the shelter can be a little noisy and overwhelming, let's get to know each other on a walk - I'll show you just what a great girl I am!  Just ask for "Patches"  and let our journey together begin!
