Grizzly Bear

8/7/11: Grizzly Bear was adopted!

One of the other MaxFund volunteers took Grizzly Bear out to an off-leash park/lake this week.  The pictures are fantasic!  Look how different he is in these pics versus the one I took in the shelter!!

Poor young guy

Hi there!  I'm Grizzly Bear - a 45-lb, 1-year old black lab mix who would've been happy to live my entire life without learning what the word "divorce" means.  My previous owners underwent a divorce and decided to divorce me (and my canine sibling) too.  Luckily, they brought me to MaxFund where I'm waiting for my true Family that can show me that Forever really means Forever!

I'm quite the excellent dog.  I'm a happy boy who aims to please.  I'm good with kids of all ages, as well as dogs.  Although I enjoy chasing cats, the MaxFund folks say I must not live with them.  I'm housetrained and know basic obedience commands such as "sit" "lay" "bed", and "outside".  My favorite activities include leash walks, playing with squeaky toys, and romping around a big yard with other canine pals.

Like many young children of divorce, I'll need consistency in my day-to-day routine.  I'll need a family with the patience, dedication and time to show me what is expected of a stellar adult canine citizen.  When we meet, I'll show you that I'm worth any trouble by rolling over allowing you full access to pet my belly.  I'm hoping then we can then leave the shelter and get to know each other outside in this beautiful state of ours.  I just know we'll be a good match and we can spend the rest of our lives demonstrating what true love and commitment means to each of us!

Paka

8/19/11: Paka was adopted!

Shy, reserved girl.

Good day!  I'm Paka - a 65-lb, 4 year-young husky/german shepherd mix described as "Sweet. Sweet. Sweet!"  Not too much is known about my past as I was brought to MaxFund as a stray but I can tell you that I'm very housetrained.  In fact, the MaxFund folks try to prioritize getting me outside because I'm absolutely horrified to soil my kennel.  Hopefully, I won't spend too much in this kennel as I'm dreaming of having a loving home to call my own...soon!

I'm quite the reserved, shy and proper girl.  I'm very well-behaved on a leash and am oh-so-thankful for the opportunity to get outside to stretch my legs.  My most beautiful physical feature may just be my beautiful, round eyes that appear to have been primped with eyeliner.  Once we get to know each other, I'll use those eyes to look deep in your soul to try and figure out what you're thinking and feeling.

The people at MaxFund aren't quite sure what I think about other dogs, cats or young kids.  I hope to meet such creatures and I'll let you know if they're potential roomies.  In the meantime, please inquire with the MaxFund folks if any of these creatures are a part of your family.

If you're looking for a dedicated, loving soul to share a life then come on over to MaxFund and ask for Paka!  Let's get outside to stretch our legs together and see if we're a match!

Cocoa

8/2/11: Cocoa was adopted!

Talker!

Greetings!  I'm Cocoa - a 50-lb, 6-year young husky mix who LOVES WATER!  Like my colorful eyes, I have a colorful past that includes ending up a stray, being taken to another outside shelter by a good samaritan and, finally, ending up here at MaxFund.  Somewhere along the line, some humans have loved me enough to show me that you humans are basically good and my number one priority is making you happy.  Did I mention that I LOVE WATER??

Like many huskies, I'm quite the chatter box.  Now our husky-talk isn't your run-of-the-mill barking, it's more of a long, rolling howl.  If you're not familiar with our language, please visit "You Tube" and search for "Husky - I love you".  You'll see one of our more talented husky-relatives expressing her love through our unique talent!!

I enjoy the company of other well-behaved, submissive dogs (I like to be the more dominant pup on the block).  Because of this, I'll need a family well-versed in our doggie behavior and culture.  As far as cats and young children, I'm unsure how I'll enjoy those buggers as they don't let them wander the Big Dog Room too often.

I'm waiting patiently for my special human(s) to pass over the MaxFund threshold.  Be sure to ask for Cocoa - maybe we could even take a dip in the kiddie pool out back?!?  Well, hurry up - it's hot over here and I'd love an extra dip in the WATER!

Pamela & Lucy

8/8/11: Pam and Lucy were adopted together!

Such cute, sweet, forgiving girls.

Hello world!  We're Pamela & Lucy, black lab sisters who have the two biggest smiles ever seen around MaxFund!  We're the epitome of the saying "Sisters make the best friends."  We've stuck together through it all - including a previous life living outdoors and having to survive on the streets.  Luckily, a good samaritan welcomed us into their home (we both had on choke chains without tags) and tried to find our owners.  We weren't claimed so we were brought to MaxFund where we're sharing a kennel while we wait for our Forever Family!

As we're such good looking and well-mannered ladies, it's not surprising that the MaxFund folks think we may have had a litter (or few) of puppies.  We're now both spayed and able to relax and enjoy the calmer side of doggie-life!  We both love the company of other dogs and cats.  We enjoy car rides, know basic obedience commands and are both house-trained.  We haven't been around too many children so please inquire with the MaxFund folks if young'uns are part of your family.

We're both 7-years young and have many years of fun-loving-living left to do.  Pamela weighs 115 lbs (and is hoping to slim down a bit) and Lucy weighs 96 lbs.  While our size may be a bit different, we can't decide who has the toothier grin!!

We're such close buddies, that we don't even like to lay on different sides of our kennel - so we're hoping to be adopted together into a fabulous home whose humans will show us what it means to be part of a family.  If you're the special human(s) willing to open your heart and home to such black beauties, we promise to repay your generosity a million-fold!  Please come visit soon and remember to ask for Pamela and Lucy!

Storm

8/7/11: Storm was adopted!

I love this guy.

Hi there!  My name is Storm and I'm an 8-year young black lab mix who has been described as a "perfect dog"!  I love people!  I love dogs!  I love cats!  I love car rides!  I love snuggling!  I love affection!  What don't I love you might ask?!?  Well, I don't love Storms.  You see, I was found by a good samaritan during one of the very bad recent thunderstorms we had this summer.  I was soaking wet and scared silly.  The good samaritan welcomed me into their home where they cleaned me up and I was comforted by the resident humans, dogs and cats alike.  The good samaritans tried (unsuccessfully) to find my previous owners.  When I wasn't claimed, the good samaritans brought me to MaxFund where I'm being well cared for until my Forever Family comes around.

I'm a very smart guy who already knows basic commands.  I am quite the gentleman on leash walks and I'll stay by your side watching you, as if waiting to see what you expect of me next.  I'm housetrained, respectful and easy-going.  The good samaritans didn't have any children so we can't say for sure how I'll enjoy their company but, really, us well-mannered dogs generally do well with all humans - small and big alike.

If you're looking for a relaxed dog who will bring some company, comfort and love to your life - then I'm your man.  Please come visit me soon...I'll be waiting patiently!

Shelly Ann

8/14/11: Shelly Ann was adopted!

Sweetie.

Jambo!  That means "Hello!" in Swahili!  I'm Shelly Ann, a 1-year old Besenji/Bull Terrier mix who was found wandering the streets as a stray.  While I was out and about, I noticed that there sure seem to be a lot of busy, worried people around these parts.  "Hakuna Matata" I wanted to say to them but they didn't understand my dog-lish.  I hope to put all people around me at ease with my gentle, affectionate personality.

I'm a bit on the shy side when we first meet but I warm up quickly.  I love the company of other dogs and would love to have a canine-roomie.  As far as cats and young children, they're sparse around the Big Dog Room here at MaxFund so I'm not sure how I'd react to them (but please inquire with the MaxFund staff if they're part of your family!)  Like all young pups, I'll need some basic obedience training but I can tell you that I have a head start as I'm already house-trained, well-mannered and great on a leash!

My Basenji ancestors originated in central Africa and are considered one of the most ancient dog breeds (there are cave paintings featuring Basenji from 6000 BC!)  You say you haven't ever heard of a breed called Basenji?  Well, then...let me educate you!  In the U.S.A., we Basenji are grouped in with the "Hounds".  We are relatively small (I'm 28 lbs), elegant, short-haired dogs with erect ears and a graceful, regal neck.  Yep...that about sums up my physical appearance!  And, what about the Basenji temperament?  We're affectionate, energetic, athletic, playful, curious and form strong bonds with humans.    And, the icing on the cake is that us Basenji's don't typically shed!

What about my Bull Terrier half?  Well, we're known to be fun-loving, active, clownish, loyal and polite.   And we also tend to bond strongly with you humans!

Do you need a little "Hakuna Matata" in your life?  If so, please come on over to MaxFund and ask for Shelly Ann!

Moly

8/7/11: Moly & Joly were adopted together!!

Cute. Cute. Cute!!

"I'm so excited!
And I just can't hide it!
And I know, I know, I know, I know
I know I want you, want you!'

Oh, excuse me.  I'm Moly and you caught me and my sister, Joly, in the midst of one of our favorite songs!  Us so-called "pointer sisters" were transferred to MaxFund from another shelter so not too much is known about our past.  We can tell you that we are 7-month old pointer/cattle dog mixes and each weigh about 31 lbs (but have some growing left to do!)  I'm the more assertive of the two of us (and a tad bit cuter if I do say so myself!)   We're both young pups who will need a family with the time, guidance and dedication to help us learn what it takes to be a stellar canine citizen.  In addition, us working dogs have a natural inclination to herd (that includes herding everything from other dogs to children) so we need a "job" to keep us occupied and out of trouble (we've heard about those so-called agility courses and I think we'd both absolutely love that kind of activity)!

We're both fun-loving girls who are excellent on a leash but enjoy romping and playing with the best of them.  Playing with other dogs is fun and we would love frequent trips to the dog park (once we learn how to respond when we're off leash) - or even occasional trips to a doggie daycare.  We haven't seen too many cats in our short life so we're not exactly sure what we'd think of living with them.

Even though I love my sister, we're definitely open to the idea of being adopted into separate homes  For now, we're enjoying each other's company and just concentrating on living today to the fullest...

"We shouldn't even think about tomorrow...
Sweet memories will last a long, long time."

Seelie

Update: Seelie is in foster!

This sweet gal has some anxiety issues but is doing great with her thunder coat!

Hello there, good folks!  I'm Seelie - a gem of a gal who is waiting for her Forever Family here at MaxFund.  I've seen a lot during my 11 year life but I've taken everything in stride and remain a happy-go-lucky pup.  Some of the adjectives you humans have used to describe me include sweet, well-mannered, loving and lovable.  And, even better, I'm ALWAYS HAPPY!

I ended up a stray and am fortunate that someone brought me to MaxFund where everyone has been wonderful!  Due to all I've seen in life, I have some anxiety concerns and I really appreciate the company of humans.   I promise to be a loyal, loving companion and I'll lean right into any pets and love that you'll offer me.  As I make such an excellent pal, I'm hoping that my future family is able to spend a lot of time with me (I even enjoy car rides and would love to accompany you around town - provided you don't leave me in a hot car!)   I love leash walks and I'm a huge fan of P.D.A. (public displays of affection - or affection in any locale is swell by me!)  People think I'm a collie mix and I weigh about 54 lbs but my soft fur may just be my best physical feature.  I haven't met too many cats, young children or other dogs so please inquire with the MaxFund staff if your family includes any of these creatures.

If you're in the neighborhood, won't you just stop on in to MaxFund and ask to meet Seelie?  Even in the shelter environment, I'm always in good spirits - and I promise to lift your spirits too!

Tami

8/31/11: Tami was adopted!

Gentle giant.

Hello all.  I'm Tami, an 85 lb, 3 year-old shepherd mix who, somehow, ended up as a stray.  While not too much is known about my past, the folks at MaxFund describe me as a gentle, sweet soul who is an eternal optimist.

I'm a rather calm gal by nature and am content to just lay around until you want something of me.  With that said, I'm very well behaved on a leash so I hope frequent exercise is part of my future Family.  I've enjoyed the company of all dogs and people I've met around MaxFund.  As they don't let cats and young kids roam around this Big Dog Room, I'm not quite sure how I'd enjoy their company (but be sure to ask the MaxFund staff - as such a gentle soul as myself might well enjoy those little buggers).  With my long, thick fur I appreciate frequent brushing and grooming sessions (I view these sessions as a perfect time to cuddle up with my humans!)

If you're looking for a big, gentle gal who always has a smile on her face, then we might be a perfect match!  Please come on down to MaxFund *soon* & ask for Tami - let's get on with our lives together, already!

Sammy

7/20/11: Sammy had a short stay at MaxFund, thank goodness!  Hopefully he won't be back again (even though he's always welcome :)

Not quite sure why people divorce the family dog - they didn't do anything to cause your break-up!!

Hello all!  I'm Sammy, a 5 year-young, 30-lb beagle mix who is one good looking dude!  I was adopted as a young pup in 2006 from MaxFund & had some good times.   Unfortunately, my owners underwent a divorce - and decided to divorce me too.  They brought me to another Denver shelter who traced my roots to MaxFund through my microchip (thank you to both shelters!)  So, here I sit waiting to meet my true Forever Family!

Due to all the shelter-shifting, not too much is known about how I act in the home.  I can say that I've enjoyed meeting some well-behaved dogs around MaxFund.  They don't let kids or cats roam around this Big Dog Room so I can't speak as to how I enjoy those creatures.  But, if they're part of your family, please inquire with the MaxFund folks about whether they think we could cohabitate.

I'm excellent on a leash and am very interested in pleasing the humans around me.  I just know I'll make an excellent addition to any stable, loving Family.  If you might have that lucky Family, please hurry on in to MaxFund ASAP and ask for Sammy!

Bluffy

7/29/11: Bluffy was adopted into an awesome family with kids!

This guy is a stud!

Hello there, good people!  Thanks for taking the time to visit my own, personalized bio page!  I'm Bluffy, a 3 year-young Aussie/collie mix - but you can just refer to me as the big-man-on-campus.  Alright, alright I'm not all that big at 45-lbs but I am sure one popular guy!  I'm a hit with the humans and dogs alike!  I'm a very well-behaved guy on a leash, am housetrained, love car rides and know some basic obedience commands.  And, like any big-man-on-campus, my favorite activities involve athletics - I love to swim and fetch - I can even catch balls mid-air!

I'm a happy guy who hasn't let my life circumstances get me down.  I greet everyone I meet with a huge smile and kisses (if you'll let me kiss you, that is - I know that "No means No" - wink! wink!)  The MaxFund folks say I must tell you that I am a bit of an escape artist so I'll need a secure 6-foot fence to make sure I stay safe and sound at home.

I was found as a stray and a good samaritan welcomed me into their home.  During my brief stay, I was very well behaved without any chewing or jumping on furniture.  Unfortunately, these good folks couldn't keep me but, luckily, they brought me to MaxFund where I can find my Forever Family!

If you're looking for an active, loving, popular guy (who will make *you* look good!), then head on in to MaxFund and ask for "Bluffy"!  I'll be here waiting for you with my famous grin!

Beans!

8/7/11: Beans was adopted!

Poor guy tied to a tree.  Jerks.

Life is just a pot o' beans!  I'm not quite sure what you humans mean by that saying, but I'd sure like to find out how great life can be!  I'm Beans, a 7-month old poodle-mix who spent my early life tied to a tree.  Not the best way to experience life but, lucky for me, a neighbor asked my "owner" why they left me tied to that darn tree and was told that they didn't want me.  I'm so grateful that the neighbor rescued me and brought me to MaxFund where I've been spiffied up, neutered and am actively searching for my Forever Family!

Like any young puppy, I'll need a family with the time and commitment to teaching me what is expected of a stellar canine citizen.  I'll need basic obedience training and special patience while I figure out what is expected of me inside your Family home.  Don't worry - I have a head start as I sure don't like to soil my cage and I "hold it" until some nice MaxFund person takes me outside.  I'm also excellent on a leash and very interested in pleasing the 2-legged folks around me.  Did I mention what a soft, furball I am?  Yep...I must be the softest pup around these parts - perfect for you to cozy up with!

I haven't had too much opportunity to meet other dogs, cats or young kids yet.  I sure don't seem phased when I've passed other dogs on a leash though!  I'm looking forward to the opportunity to meet these other creatures and I'll be sure to update my bio with how I do!

All 10 pounds of me is back in the Big Dog Room at MaxFund just waiting for *you* to come around the corner.  Please hurry over to visit...I'm eager to get this life started already!

Honey

8/31/11: Honey was adopted!!

Sweet, sweet.  She was spayed the day before this pic - hence her cone-of-shame :(

Are you looking for a little Honey to complete your Family in the second half of 2011?  Well, then - I just might be your gal!  You guessed it...my name is Honey and I'm one special find!  I'm a 2 year-old, 40-lb sharpei who was found as a stray.  The MaxFund folks think I might've been mistreated during my short life as I initially cowered whenever anyone reached to pet or love me.  I'm making quick progress in the trust department, though, and am learning that most people are good!  Now, when I see you coming, wags are starting to replace my fear!!

I enjoy the company of other friendly dogs and think a nice canine would make a great roomie (however, a terrific human or two is my #1 priority!)  I haven't encountered too many cats or young children around the Big Dog Room here at MaxFund so I'm not quite sure what I think of them.  If they're part of your family, please inquire with the MaxFund folks about if they think we would get along.  I'm very well-behaved on a leash & am always interested in what my human is up to (after all - your happiness is my #1 priority!)

I'm just a sweet love-of-a-gal who is looking to learn how great being part of a family can be.  If you're looking to complete your family with some sweet Honey, please hurry over to MaxFund to visit me soon!  I promise to greet you with wags!!

Killian

7/25/11: Killian was adopted!

Killian was neutered the day I met him so couldn't take him out on a walk :(

Wowzers!  What a world this is!  My name is Killian and I'm a 32-lb chow mix who was born in January 2011.  In my short few months of life, I somehow ended up a stray and found my way to an outside shelter.  Someone recognized what a great guy I am and offered to foster me until a spot was available at MaxFund.  I've since arrived at MaxFund, been neutered (even this so-called "cone-of-shame" doesn't get my spirits down!) and am enjoying getting to know all the folks (4-legged & 2-legged alike) around here.  What a whirlwind!

While I was in foster care, I got along great with other dogs and even a cat (I was curious about this feline but never showed any aggression). I haven't been around too many little kiddos but I've enjoyed meeting every human who my path has crossed.  I'm housetrained and a very playful pup (those big, soft, plush toys are my FAV!)  I learn tricks easily and am treat-motivated.  My foster parents also reported that I'm not too much of a chewer - although they always had plenty of toys around for distraction.  I already know how to fetch and tug-o-war is rather entertaining!

If you're searching for a young, happy-go-lucky pup to share a lifetime of love and laughs with, then you've come to the right place!  Please hurry down to MaxFund for ask for Killian!

Bebe

7/10/11: Bebe was adopted!!

Part dalmatian...

Hello there & thank you for taking the time to read about me, Bebe, a 41-lb Dalmatian mix. I’ve had a rough go-at-it during my 16 months on this earth. I was initially abandoned in an apartment so a nice person took me in. Unfortunately, he lost his home & we ended up living in a car. Thankfully, he realized that a car was not a good home for a young dog such as myself so he brought me to MaxFund. So, here I sit waiting for my Forever Family!

Even though I might be named after that high-class fashion store in the Cherry Creek Mall, I’m just a down-to-earth, optimistic gal. I get along well with other dogs and I’ve always been very well-behaved around children. I think cats are really fun to chase so I probably shouldn’t live with one. I’m housetrained, very well behaved on a leash and know some basic obedience commands. My favorite pastimes include going to dog parks and hiking (Hint! Hint!).

I can get a bit overwhelmed here in the noisy Big Dog Room so I hope we can meet outside the shelter where you can fully appreciate what a sweet, loveable, sincere pup I truly am. Please come visit soon and be sure to ask for Bebe!

Patty

10/2/11: Patty was adopted!

Quiet, laid-back lil' gal.

Hi’ya! Hope everyone out there is enjoying their summer! I’m Patty, a 6-year old black lab mix that was brought to MaxFund as a stray. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time at MaxFund with all these nice folks but I’m dreaming of the day that I find that special someone with whom I can spend my life.

As I was a stray, not too much is known about my past. I can tell you that I’m a very polite girl who is rather quiet here at the shelter. I’m well-behaved on a leash & get along well with all people I’ve met. I haven’t had too much play-time yet with other dogs, cats or kids yet around these parts – but please inquire with the MaxFund staff if these creatures are a part of your family.

If you’re searching for a polite, reserved gal with lots of livin’ left to do, you have found the right bio! Please come to MaxFund for a visit soon. Be sure to ask for Patty (as you might look right over my 39-lb, quiet self here in this noisy Big Dog Room)!

Ellie

8/31/11: Ellie was adopted!

This girl is cuuuuuute!!  She was just spayed - hence the cone of shame :(

Hi everyone! I’m Ellie, a young 30-lb Shar-pei who is actively searching for my perfect Forever Family. I was relinquished by my former guardians because they could no longer care for me. I’m grateful they chose MaxFund because everyone is working hard to ensure that I find my perfect match!

Did you know that, according to recent genetic research, us Shar-pei’s seem to be one of the few ancient dog breeds?!? Combine my ancient roots with my young, playful personality and you may just have the perfect 4-legged companion! I spent most of my time in my previous life living outdoors so I’m looking forward to a family that will welcome me inside their home. While I enjoy the company of other dogs, I’m not so sure about cats and younger children as I haven’t encountered too many of those lil’ buggers. If cats and kids are part of your family, please ask the MaxFund staff whether they think we’d make good roomies. And, like all young’uns, I’ll need a family with the patience to guide me in what it takes to become an excellent canine citizen.

If you’re looking for a cozy, wrinkly canine companion, I just might be the gal for you. Please make time soon to come visit MaxFund and remember to ask for Ellie!

Bonnie

12/26/11: Bonnie was adopted!

11/14/11: Bonnie is back through no fault of her own...

9/3/11: Bonnie was adopted!  Some lucky family is getting a fantastic companion :)

This girl stays in the outside part of her kennel whenever given the choice.  I hope some fabulous person will teach her how wonderful being inside a home can be.

Good day to all the good people who took the time to visit my own personal autobiography site. I’m Bonnie, a 60-lb, 4 year-old perfect mix of Shepherd, Doberman & Heeler (at least that’s the humans’ best guess as to my origins!) I’m told that my job here is to advertise why I’ll make the perfect addition to your family…so here goes…

I’m a quiet, reserved girl who is oh-so-appreciative of any & all attention I’m paid. I gently lean into all pets & affection offered me. I was a stray who was taken in by some Good Samaritans. Their family included several cats & dogs and I got along well with everyone. The humans in the family describe me as a “sweet, sweet” girl but, unfortunately, they couldn’t keep another 4-legged companion. Lucky for me, they brought me to MaxFund where I just know I’ll find the wonderful Family I deserve.

It seems that I’ve spent most of my time outside but I’m on the search for a Family that will welcome me into their home. Are you the special human searching for such a undemanding gal such as myself? If so, please come visit MaxFund and ask for Bonnie. I promise to spend my entire life thanking you for you open heart & home!

Boomer

7/20/11: Boomer was adopted!

Love Boomer.

Howdy! My name is Boomer and my life-motto is:

Play Hard. Nap Hard. Love Hard. (But don’t worry…I’m neutered!)

I’m a 50-lb, 1 year old Boxer mix who is grateful to have landed at MaxFund after my time was “up” at another rescue organization. After that close-call, I’ve got to live life to the absolute fullest!

I enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as we’re introduced properly & they don’t try to dominate me (after all - what adolescent boy likes to be bullied?!?) I am a playful guy and I hope to have a backyard to romp around in. After playtime, I hope to be able to crash on a cozy pillow (or a couch would probably do too!) MaxFund isn’t quite sure how I’d enjoy cohabitating with cats or children but please inquire with the staff if these creatures are part of your family.

Are you the lucky human looking to share some play-time, nap-time & love-time with a handsome guy such as myself? If so, hurry on over to MaxFund and ask for Boomer!

Dixie (2) Bio

8/19/11: Dixie was adopted!

Sweetie :)

Hi ya’ll! My name is Dixie & I’m a 9-month old boxer mix who was found as a stray. How someone could let such a cute gal as myself get away is beyond me! I’m an affectionate, lovable, beautiful pup who will make someone a once-in-a-lifetime companion.

Like all puppies, I’ll need someone with the time, dedication & patience to teach me what is expected of a stellar adult canine citizen. Don’t worry – I have a great head start as I’m a friendly dog who has gotten along with all people I’ve met at MaxFund. I haven’t yet met young children but have been a polite girl with children as young as 12 years. With proper introductions, I’ve enjoyed playing with some dogs (especially the boys – wink! wink!) Cats, however, are a different story as I think they were created for me to chase….so I probably shouldn’t live with them.

I’ve heard from my neighbors at MaxFund that there are humans that will welcome me into their life FOREVER and love me UNCONDITIONALLY. Each time of I close my puppy eyes, I dream of the day that such a special human stumbles across lil’ ole me here at MaxFund. We can trot on out of here together and into the sunset…

Max (2) Bio

7/29/11: Max was adopted!!

At MaxFund, we are not allowed to walk dogs if it is over 85 degrees outside.  When I visited the shelter, it was over 90 so I wasn't able to take the pups out for pictures :(  Don't worry - all dogs were walked earlier in the day when it was a bit cooler!

Sweet, sweet big puppy :)

Hello! Howdy! How do ya do?  I’m Max, a goofy 10-month old German Shepherd pup who is eagerly peering out from my crate daily to see if my Future Family has found me yet.

I’m a very friendly guy who loves life!  My most recent happy memory is the Lucky Mutt Strutt (the annual MaxFund walk in Wash Park) where I was a hit with the ladies, gents and canines alike!  Like all puppies, I’ll need a Family with the patience and dedication to teach me what is expected of an excellent canine citizen.

I’m a very smart guy with *tons* of potential.  I get along well with other dogs (dog park, anyone?!?) and all people I’ve met (include kids!)  I haven’t spent too much time around cats so I’m not quite sure what I think of them.

I currently weigh about 68-lbs but I may still have a little growing to do over the next few months – please don’t let that growing be in the shelter.  Hurry down to MaxFund and ask for “Max”!
