Mistletoe

Mistletoe bio

Suffering from a little post-holiday blues? Or love the holidays & wish they could continue forever? Or are you a completely content person with a joyful life plus/minus the holidays but you could use a little extra lovin' in your life? Well, lucky for you, I can have the perfect "cure" for y'all…Mistletoe!

Howdy, I'm Mistletoe - a 1 year-old gal who was rescued from a local Denver animal shelter after my foster family realized just how fabulous I am!  While I could easily be bitter about being abandoned over the holiday season, I don't have one ounce of bitterness in my little terrier-mix body as I was fortunate enough to be "rescued" on Christmas Eve…how's that for the best Christmas gift EVER!?!  When my foster family brought me home, I joyfully bounded out of the crate trying to communicate, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"  Even though my human foster family doesn't speak 'Dog-lish', I think my gratitude was well understood!  And, I know 2014 is *my* year as I plan to find the perfect Forever Family!

My foster family includes a much larger dog who I get along well with.  I've also been very friendly with all humans I've met - readily doling out kisses to express my love and gratitude!  I hear there is a feline creature somewhere in my foster home but she just hides from me so I'm not quite sure how we'd get along.  I also have yet to meet any young children so please inquire with the Paws & Co. folks if young kids are part of your family.

As I'm still an adolescent, my Forever Family must commit to teaching me all that is expected from a superstar adult canine citizen.  If you invest the time and love up front, I promise to spend my entire life trying to express just how thankful I am!  And we're ensured to have many laughs along our journey given my sweet, loving personality - as well as my adorable underbite that just seems to make you humans smile!

Lucille

Lucille Bio

Loyal, LovabLe LuciLLe!  HeLLO aLL! I'm LuciLLe, a 37-lb, beauty (maybe a Border CoLLie/SpanieL mix?!?) - really, my genes don't matter to much to me as they're in the past and I'm focused on my future!  We're not too sure about what brought me to Paws & Co. although I seem to be an easy-going gal who gets aLong weLL with other dogs (aLthough my encounters have been brief) and the 5-year old human chiLd in my foster home.  At 2-3 years YOUNG, I stiLL have quite the puppy-energy (I'LL shower you with kisses upon your arrivaL home!) but, don't worry as I'm past that annoying chewing-up-your-shoes phase!) and I'm already potty-trained and I even tolerate the crate for short periods!

WhiLe I am quite the Looker, I've got brains behind this beautifuL face - I aLready know basic obedience commands such as sit, shake and Lay down.  My very favorite pastime is receiving beLLy rubs and just hangin' with the fam.  I have yet to encounter those creatures called "cats" so I'm not quite sure what a think about them but pLease let the Paws & Co. folks know is such beings are part of your family as they can help assess compatibility!

If a LoyaL, Lovable, Looker might fit in weLL with your famiLy, pLease email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today!

Yogi (cat)

Yogi Bio

Yogi the butt-wiggler!  Yup – that’s me!  I’m a 12-week young kitten rescued from rural Colorado and I have the most adorable butt-wiggle that I show off right before I pounce.  At such a young age, I have lots to learn but I can tell you that I’m friendly with all humans (even young kids!) and other cats I’ve met.  I even tolerate dogs!

Of course, as such a young boy, I’ll need a family with the love, time and patience to teach me what exactly is expected of an adult feline family member (although I must brag that I’m a fast learner & I’ve already got the hang of going potty in that “litter box” thing you humans keep around the house.)

Might you need a little butt-wiggling to brighten your 2014?  If so, please email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today and mention that you’d like to meet Yogi!

Booboo (cat)

BooBoo Bio

Hello! I’m Booboo – a 12-week young kitten rescued from rural Colorado along with my brother, Yogi.  We’re both rather amazing (if we do say so ourselves) and are so grateful to be in a warm home this winter!  My foster family describes me as “sweet and mellow” until you bring out the toys and then I become quite the “party animal”!  I get along well with all humans I’ve met (even kids!) as well as other feline friends.  I even tolerate dogs!

Like all young boys, I’ll need a family with the love, time and patience to teach me what is expected of an adult feline family member.  I do have a head-start as I’m a fast learner and am already litter-box-trained (wahoo!)

Might a sweet mellow kitten (who sure knows how to party when the time’s right!) fit well into your family this New Year?  If so, please email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today and mention Booboo!

Lenny

Lenny

It’s your lucky day as you’ve stumbled across the “barkography” of an awesome, family-friendly dog who will fit well into most any fantastic Family and will teach you a life-lesson (or two…or three…) along the way!

I’m Lenny – a 3 year-young Terrier mix who is full grown at 10-lbs.  I get along well with all people including young children and even the large (relatively speaking, of course) guinea pig in my foster home.  In fact, the youngest human member of my foster family, received a “vet kit” as a birthday present and I’ve been the perfect patient – laying still and letting her complete recurrent “full check ups” on me!

While I may look like a puppy, you don’t have to worry about any of that puppy-training as I’m already housetrained, crate trained and know a couple basic obedience commands.  I have yet to cohabitate with any cats or dogs but, given that I am very polite with the aforementioned guinea pig, I’m likely to get along swell with all well-behaved creatures.  Of course, I’ll need to meet all family members before we all commit to a life-long cohabitation relationship.

You may be wondering what “life-lessons” I can teach your family.  Well, in addition to teaching us all that homeless dogs (I was found running along a busy highway & no one claimed me) can be pretty darn fantastic (see above!), I can teach everyone a bit of tolerance.  You see, I am blind in my right eye (the vet says I was either born that way or sustained an injury when I was very young) and, therefore, my face appears a bit more unique.  However, I’ve compensated well and don’t even seem to notice that missing vision.  My foster mom has taken full advantage of my uniqueness in teaching the kiddos how great animals and people can be even if they look a little different. What a great opportunity for all of us, eh?!?!

So, there must be a down-side to such a seemingly perfect guy as myself, right?  Well, I am pretty dedicated to snuggling with you on the furniture and I hear some humans prefer to not share their furniture with canine companions.  Well, if you’re fantastic in every other way, I guess I could get used to a cozy dog bed (as long as you promise I can still regularly snuggle on your lap!)

I’m eagerly awaiting my Forever Family so if you think you might be that lucky human, please email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today!

Gus

Gus bio

How about a Cinderella story to complete your 2013?  The girls in my foster home describe me as “cute, loyal, devoted, kind hearted and brave” just like that fantastically friendly mouse “Gus” from Cinderella!  At 100-lbs, we can all be glad that I’m a GUY so none of us have to worry about my paw fitting into that famous glass slipper!

If the above adjectives aren’t quite enough, my foster mom goes on to describe me as “calm, a lover, a cuddler and mild-mannered”.  At 5 years-young, I’m past all those annoying puppy habits (definitely no chewing up any stray glass slippers you leave around the house…heehee!).  I’m already potty-trained, crate-trained (for short periods only, please!), know how to use the doggie door and know some basic obedience commands.  I get along well with my foster canine sibling but I haven’t  yet encountered any felines nor young children with Paws & Co. (but please don’t let my lack of exposure stop you – a mild-mannered guy like myself might be able to live happily-ever-after with a multitude of creatures – just let us know about your family and we can talk compatibility!)

Although I’m having a blast in my foster family, I’m ready to trot away into the sunset with my Forever Family.  If you might be my Cinderella (or Prince Charming…or my Jaq, Suzy or Perla for that matter (my famous mice pals)), please email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website before the clock chimes midnight!

Zeke

Hi I’m Zeke! I was rescued by some amazing humans from Paws & Co. as part of the 100 Dogs Project (a goal to save 100 stray dogs from Antonioto, CO and bring us home for the holidays!)  My rescuer and I wrote this song on our long drive to Denver!

(Ahem…cue holiday music here…)
Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays…

I rescued a stray dog who lived in Antonito & we both headed for
Denver and some awesome foster homes…
From Antonito folks are travelin’ up The Rockies corridor;
From homeless dog to warm foster home -
Gee, the lovin’ is terrific!

Clever, eh?  Now that you appreciate my musical genius, let me tell you more about myself.  I’m a 4 year-young, 65-lb very unique appearing dog.  My Foster Mom thinks I should be the first of a new breed called the Coconut Labrador!  I’m playful, cuddly, potty-trained & I already know how to use the doggie door.  I’m very intelligent and have already mastered some basic obedience commands.  Given that food was scarce as a stray, I’m a bit food-protective so I’ll need to go to a family that will commit to helping me eat in a safe, protected environment.  As long as I’m not eating, I get along well with all dogs I’ve met.  My foster family doesn’t include any young children nor felines so I’m not quite sure what I think of them.

If you’re interested in bringing me home for the holidays, please
email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today!

When you long for the sunshine of a friendly gaze,

For the holidays - you can’t beat home, sweet home!

Bear

Bear Bio

I hear you’re looking for a Best Friend?  Well…here I am!  My name is Bear and I’m definitely the best friend of your dreams!  I’m a 4 year-young, 45 lb black lab/heeler and I’m what everyone is looking for when they think of (wo)man’s best friend!
I was one of the lucky pups who was rescued from Antonito, Colorado as part of the 100 Dogs Project (a goal to bring 100 stray dogs from Antonito "home" for the holidays).  The rancher near where I was living states that someone just "dumped" me without a thought.  How someone could "dump" such a fantastic guy as myself, I just don't understand.  I can't dwell on the past, however, and I choose to spend my time focusing on how I can continue being (wo)man's Best Friend!  I'm already potty-trained, know basic obedience commands and can use the dog door.
I’m a very friendly guy and really enjoy the company of all people and dogs that I've met.  The Paws & Co. folks haven't seen me around kids or cats so we're not quite sure how we'd get along but please inquire with Paws & Co. about potential compatibility if such creatures are part of your family.
I’d love a Best Friend that is active as I love playing fetch and going for walks.  I also know I’d love outdoor mountain sports such as hiking and I’d probably even love swimming (once the summer comes around, of course!)  I’m a superstar cuddler and I love getting lovin’ from my Friends.  My fur is very soft and I just know you’ll love cozying right up to me!
What are you waiting for?  Your best friend is waiting for YOU through Paws & Co.! Please hurry up and email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today!

Gibbs

Gibbs
RAGS to RICHES. Rescued from a RANCH in Antonito, Colorado (as part of the 100 Dogs Project – a goal to bring 100 stray dogs from Antonito home for the holidays!) and now boarding at Pets on BROADWAY here in this fancy city of Denver. Hi there! I’m – a 1 year-young Shepherd/Pyrenees mix pup who spent the first year of my life romping with my brothers, Mowgli and Yukon (also up for adoption!) and growing to my (full-grown) weight of 80-lbs! We were all fortunate to be rescued by Paws & Co. where we spent a few days with a temporary foster before boarding here at the fab Pets on Broadway!
Given that I didn’t have too much human interaction on the ranch, I’m not too sure what is expected of an indoor canine family member so I’ll need a Forever Family with the time, patience, and dedication to teach me (using positive-reinforcement techniques) what is expected of such a large guy as myself. Don’t fret as I have a head start – while I was with my foster family, I didn’t have any interest in pottying inside (that would sure be impolite!) and I was friendly (although somewhat hesitant initially) with all folks I met. I have quite the playful, puppy-like personality and I look forward to an active family who will enjoy all of my goofy puppy-antics! I have yet to meet any young kids or cats so, like all adoptable pups, I’ll need to meet all future family members before making a life-long commitment.

Will you be the happy ending to my RAGS to RICHES story? I have a lifetime of love to give and I’d love to start doling it out ASAP…so please email pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website today!

Star

Star Bio

Hello ya’ll.  My name is Star and I’m an original Southern Belle.  Well, really, I'm a Colorado gal through-and-through and I have yet to grow into that Belle - but my Catahoula genetics are sure to shine through as I grow up!  I’m an 8-week young little lady who was rescued from Antonito, CO with my four siblings as part of the 100 Dogs Project (a goal to bring 100 stray dogs from Antonito home for the holidays!)   Thank goodness as I hear it's pretty darn cold up there these days.

I have an awesome foster mom (that I'm sharing with my sister, Luna) and we're starting to learn the ropes of how to make you humans smile :o))  Like all puppies, we need families with the love, time, patience and dedication to teach us exactly what is expected of an adult canine family member.

Please allow me to tell you a snip about my Catahoula ancestors.  We're believed to be the FIRST breed of dog developed in the United States (Louisiana to be precise).  Our official name is the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and we were bred to be hunters, trackers and herders.  We're highly intelligent and energetic and need a well-matched active family (we hear this shouldn't be hard to find in this active state of ours!) that can handle a large adult dog (Luna and I will likely be about 50-60lbs when full-grown).   And, while us Southern Belles don’t like to brag…if I do say so myself, I am quite a beauty with my black coat and mesmerizing eyes!  Although I have yet to meet any young human children or cats, I may be able to live with them if exposed to them in a healthy manner at a young age so please inquire ASAP if you're interested in incorporating me into your feline- and kiddo-friendly family!

My sissy and I are spunky, charismatic gals who keeps on the sunny side of life.  In fact, our favorite southern quotation is “Sometimes good things fall apart (snuggling with our Mama) so better things can fall together (our Forever Family!)’  I know that I will easily “fall” into sunny days and warm, cozy nights as part of your family. I hope ya’ll can visit me – you can start by emailing  pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or filling out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website and asking for “Star…the Southern Belle!”

Leo

Sensitive, attractive, cuddly young man on the search for a warm lap to snuggle in this winter.  Interested?!?  Fortunate for you, you've stumbled upon your perfect match!  I'm Leo - a 8-week-YOUNG pup with a unique sensitive side who is searching for a loving, patient family.  This family must be pretty darn fabulous - with the time, energy and dedication to teach me all I need to know to grow into the perfect family companion.  I'm starting to learn the ropes with my foster family by learning some basic obedience commands, adjusting to a crate (on a short-term basis only, of course!) and learning where it's ok (and not ok!) to "relieve" myself.

Us Catahoula's are quite a fantastic breed - we aren't just a bunch of pretty faces (well we're that too…) - we're intelligent, energetic pups who fit in perfectly here in Colorado (even though our roots are traced to Louisiana). I definitely need an active family who can expose me to lots of new, exciting environments as I grow up (the more I'm exposed to earlier, the more confident and well-behaved adult I'll become).

If your life has a sensitivity void, please consider filling it with a warm pup named Leo!  I'm eagerly accepting applications TODAY!  You can reach me by emailing  pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or filling out an adoption application on the Paws & Co. Adoptions website!
