Aasia

5/14/11: Aasia was adopted!!

3/26/11: Aasia went to a Foster Home!!!

3/12/11: Unfortunately, this update isn't about Aasia being adopted.  She had an app but it didn't work out.  Today, she played fantastically with Jason, a new puppy to MF.  I snapped some photos.  The first is Asia (on the left of the photo), and the second is Aasia alone.  She tugs at my heart and I hope she goes HOME soon!

There are currently four big, black dogs at MaxFund.  As I've mentioned, they're the hardest to get adopted out.  Today, I learned that THREE of them have good applications pending and will, hopefully, be going home to their Forever Families this week!  Unfortunately, Aasia is not one of them.  She's a rather petite gal and has had a hard lot in life - but she really doesn't let it keep her down!  I hope she's gets to go home SOON!

Hello everyone!  My name is Aasia and I’m a 55 lb, 4 year-old black lab/pointer mix.  I’ve had a rough go-of-it during my little time here on earth – but I haven’t let any of this keep me down!  My first year was spent living on the street with a man who also didn’t have a home.  I was then given to another family who kept me for four years.  Unfortunately, they lost their home and didn’t want me back on the streets (it was awful out there!) so they asked MaxFund to help me find a perfect Forever Family.
I’m excited to meet new potential family members!  I give lots of “Pick-me, Pick-me” barks when you first visit me at MaxFund.  The barks are just trying to get you to notice me out of all the colorful pups around!  As soon as you come into my area, I put down my ears and lay down waiting for pets and the leash so we can go on a walk.  I love kids and cats – so I think I would enjoy living with them.   I like to play rough with other dogs (especially with balls and sticks) – and I especially like when other dogs let me be the dominant one. I am housetrained and know what “sit” means.  All this playing is good and all, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle.  And, while I don’t like talking about what happened during my first year of life, you should know that I’m initially a bit nervous around large men.  Despite my initial shyness, I warm up to all friendly people very quickly and am an equal-opportunity-snuggler!
This is a little bit about my past, now allow me to tell you what I’m hoping for.  Family size isn’t as important to me, but I do want an active family as I really love running and playing.  I even think I’d make a great jogging partner!  And, I’ve heard from some of the other pups about Colorado hiking and even playing in SNOW FIELDS!  Wow!  My perfect day just might include a hike, rolling in a snow field and warming up with some cuddles in front of a fire. Perfection.
I know I’ll bring lots of fun, smiles and snuggles to you and your family – can you bring trust, love and security to mine?   Please stop by so we can get to know each other!  Just ask for Aasia, the optimistic girl looking to settle-down into my Forever Family!
