Yahsu! (That's how you say hello in Greek!) I say Yahsu because my name is Xenia, which is the Greek concept of hospitality. Wikipedia says that Xenia means generosity/courtesy shown to those who are far from home (which I am!) I am a 2 year-old German Shepard/Rottweiler mix and was transferred to MaxFund from a high kill shelter because they realized just how spectacular I am! Let me tell you a little about me, Xenia...
I did some research and, according to Wikipedia, Xenia (Greek hospitality) consists of three basic rules:
1. One, the respect from host (you) to guest (me, Xenia!). "The host must be hospitable to the guest and provide them with food and drink and a bath, if required. It is not polite to ask questions until the guest has stated their needs." Don't worry, I'm not too demanding! I'm an easy-going girl who just wants some loving and to be part of your family! I must say that I've been complimented on many occasions about just how soft and thick my fur is! I know that once you pet me, you'll fall in love with my soft coat - especially the amazing softness over my neck! And, I hope my pointy ears and loving eyes can make you smile!
2. Two, the respect from guest to host. "The guest must be courteous to their host and not be a burden." Don't you worry, I will do my very best to not be a burden! I'm good on a leash and would love to be a jogging partner (if you're a jogger, that is!) I'll provide you with lots of loving and joy!

3. Lastly, the parting gift (xenion, ξεινήιον) from host to guest. "The parting gift is to show the host's honor at receiving the guest." Don't worry...I don't expect that we'll be parting in the future so no gifts will be necessary!! The best gift will be you letting me share your home and family forever!
I sure hope you can stop by MaxFund so we can get to know each other! I promise I'll be a great guest-turned-family member! Just ask for Xenia!
