This guy is absolutely fabulous. He'd been with his family his entire life...until the baby came along. They said they didn't have time to take care of him anymore...and then turned around in the next sentence and said that he didn't really take much care at all - that he just wants to lay in the room where his people are. I don't understand how people can turn out a family member "just because." Sad. Sick. And that's just what I feel....Mr. Taos is even more confused. He just sits in the shelter peaking around the corner when people enter. He doesn't bark but will gently glance up to see if you're coming in to give him some much-needed TLC. He deserves a family who really appreciates what a wonderful man Mr. Taos is...until then, the staff and volunteers at MF will give him all the love we can...
Hello! My name is Taos and I'm an 8-year YOUNG lab/shepherd mix. I weigh 56 lbs and I am calm, cool and relaxed - just like the town of Taos, New Mexico. My family didn't have time to take care of me anymore so they brought me to MaxFund to find my Forever Family. Really, though, I'm not too demanding of your time - I'm content to just be in the presence of my people.
I am a great companion and many volunteers and staff at MaxFund have fallen in love with my gentle soul. I am excellent on a leash - content to just walk by your side. I will gently lean into your pets to encourage you to continue - I'm just so appreciative of your attention! And I know you'll love my soft fur - especially where it's so thick around my neck (hint, hint!) I like kids, small dogs and am housetrained. I can get a little annoyed with bigger dogs (especially if they are the high-energy type) and I'm not too fond of cats. Car rides are fun so I'd love to accompany you around town whenever possible - maybe we could even road trip to my namesake town!?!
As I'm such a cool and collected young gal, I'm not too thrilled about all this noise in the shelter. So, stop on in and we'll get to know each other outside of all the commotion! Just ask for "Taos" - the coolest dog to arrive at MaxFund in a looooooong time!
