(G)Ranger

4/18/11: (G)Ranger was adopted!  WooHoo!!

4/1/11: Ranger is, unfortunately, still at MaxFund waiting for her Forever Family.  She has come out of her shell a bit lately & plays very well with other dogs.  Her name was changed to Granger b/c people thought Ranger sounded like a bio.   I updated her bio...

Granger bio

My name is GRANGER, which is short for GIRL RANGER!! Im a 4 year-young 75-pound Doberman mix. You might be thinking that RANGER is an unusual name for a gal such as myself. Well, you're mistaken - it's a perfect name for me! Let me explain...

Reason #1: In principle, a RANGER is charged with "ranging over" & protecting an area of countryside. Well, I'm a very loyal, loving companion & very committed to keeping my people and home safe & protected. Ya know how a forest ranger is in charge of protecting and preserving protected forestlands and a park ranger protects and preserves parklands? You get the point!

I was brought to MaxFund by my former family because they couldn't take care of me anymore. I was very sad to leave my family but look forward to finding the perfect Forever Family to call my very own! I enjoy playing with some other dogs & really appreciate when the MaxFund folks let me romp with one of my many canine companions!! With regards to those small humans (I believe you call them babies or children), I lived with a 2-year old and we got along just fine so please inquire with the MaxFund staff about whether your family members will be a good fit. I must admit that I don't think I'd like to co-habitate with cats.

Reason #2: Becoming a female RANGER is a formidable task - only the most intelligent women need apply! Did you know that Doberman's are consistently ranked in the top 5 dog breeds with regards to "obedience and command training"? And, many studies have shown that we are the NUMBER ONE breed for trainability. Not too shabby! I already know basic obedience commands, but would love the challenge and structure that would be associated with more advanced training.

Reason #3: One of my favorite hobbies include hiking the Front RANGE, Colorado! Actually, hiking in any locale will do!! I've done my fair share of exploring these Colorado mountains and I must say that my favorite moments are when we're out as a family appreciating all the natural beauty that our world has to offer! I'm well-behaved on a leash - but I especially love when we stumble upon an unexpected lake and I get to take a swim.

At the end of the day, I'm just a gal looking for some love and belonging. I really love getting pets and will lean into you in encouragement until I tumble over! And, I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pretty attractive gal if I do say so myself. Most of my coat is dark brown, but my lower legs fade to a lighter brown and my feet are all white. I also have beautifully natural, floppy ears that I love to have rubbed.

If you're looking for a loyal, loving life-long companion, I'm your gal! Please come visit and ask for the only female dog in this place that could live up to the name (G)RANGER!

Sweetie - cocks her head to the side each time you walk by her kennel as if to say, "You here to walk me?"  She's still at MF...but, hopefully, not for long.

My name is RANGER and I'm a 4 year-young female, spayed, 75-pound Doberman mix.  You might be thinking that RANGER is an unusual name for a gal such as myself.  Well, you're mistaken - it's a perfect name for me!  Let me explain...

Reason #1: In principle, a RANGER is charged with "ranging over" and protecting an area of countryside.  Well, I'm a very loyal, loving companion and very committed to keeping my people and home safe and protected.  Ya know how a forest ranger is in charge of protecting and preserving protected forestlands and a park ranger protects and preserves parklands? You get the point!  As I'm confident in my ability to fulfill your dog-companion needs, I would prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I was actually brought to MaxFund by my former family because I wasn't good at living with the other dog in the home.  I was very sad to leave my family but look forward to finding the perfect Forever Family to call my very own!  While I prefer to not co-habitate with another dog, I've always been on my best behavior at dog parks where I can relax and let down my guard.  With regards to those small humans (I believe you call them babies or children), I lived with a 2-year old and we got along just fine.  However, I wouldn't say that I really enjoyed her company so I'd probably prefer to live only with older children and adults who can really appreciate me!  I also don't think I'd like to co-habitate with cats.

Reason #3: One of my favorite hobbies include hiking the Front RANGE, Colorado!  Actually, any hiking or exploring will do - it doesn't have to be here in the Front Range.  I've done my fair share of exploring these Colorado mountains and I must say that my favorite moments are when we're out as a family appreciating all the natural beauty that our world has to offer!  I'm well-behaved on a leash - but I do love when I get to roam free (in legal off-leash areas, of course!)  I especially love when we stumble upon an unexpected lake and I get to take a swim.
