As Kira is a MF return (originally adopted in Jan 2010), I just updated this bio. So, I can't take full credit. She had an *awesome* app this week and will, hopefully, go home this weekend!!!
SQUIRREL!!!!! Well that is the only way I can get any attention here in the big dog room with all of the barking. Don't worry there aren't any squirrels in here, but don't tell my neighbors, heh,heh!! Now that I have your full attention, my name is Kira and I am a 1 year old, 57 lb lab mix. I initially came to MaxFund as a small puppy because a shelter was closing its doors so it could no longer care for its animals. I was adopted in January 2010 - but returned to MaxFund in December because the family didn't have time to take care of me. Well...at least I'm now able to search for my real Forever Family!
I'm a really sweet gal who loves to go for walks outside with my tail held high. As a lab mix, going for a walk or jog is an essential part of my daily routine....not just to do my "duties", but a dog my size loves to be exercised. I have good leash manners and especially love staying alert in my never-ending search for SQUIRRELS! I am very intelligent and continue to learn commands (I already know basic obedience commands, but could use some extra training since my previous family didn't have time to invest in my future). I am also a very lively and playful pooch and love to chase balls...sometimes I even return them, heh,heh!!
As I'm only a year-old, I still have a lot of puppy-energy - I've been known to knock over small kids. That's not to say that I don't love all people (big and small) but I just get so darned excited about life! When I do get overly excited, I try to restrain myself by sitting - but it's *so* tough! I try reeeallly hard though because I want to make sure everyone around me is happy. In addition to loving all people, I also love keeping company with other dogs and cats. Oh, I should also mention I'm housebroken. Pretty impressive, eh?!?
I would love to meet you if you don't mind having a pup that would love you unconditionally, go for daily walks, nap in the afternoon (maybe) and be your constant companion forever. I just know you'll love petting my long, soft, shiny fur. Please come down to MaxFund and see me. I am the pup in the big dog room yelling "SQUIRREL" , heh, heh!!
