Hello ya’ll. My name is Emma Lou and I’m an original Southern Belle. I’m 2 year old lady and I just keep moving west! I was transported to MaxFund from a high-kill shelter in Missouri – some nice soul realized how fabulous I am and knew that my time shouldn’t be “up”! Whew…that was a close one.
Please allow me to tell you a snip about my Plott Hound ancestors. We are scent hounds and our ancestors bred us for boar hunting in Germany. When we crossed the pond into the New World, we settled in North Carolina, where we remain the state dog. And, I just kept going west – Missouri and, now, Colorado! Lucky for me, I think I’m a great Colorado dog and I look forward to settling in! In appearance, we Plott Hounds are muscular, athletic and agile – not to mention our beautiful brindle-colored coat. We are bright, alert, friendly, eager to please and courageous. And, while us Southern Belles don’t like to brag…if I do say so myself, I make my breed proud! I am a great citizen and especially love friendly dogs, car rides and kids. I’m great on a leash and love to play!
I am a polite, genuine easy-going gal who keeps on the sunny side of life. In fact, my favorite southern quotation is” “Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together!’ I know that I will easily “fall” into sunny days and cozy nights as part of your family. I hope ya’ll can stop by and visit me – just ask for “Emma Lou…the Southern Belle!”
